For those that don't know . . . there is an online pre-registration tool that allows you to plan your schedule the like you would with x-tracs . . . but it is online. Don't know how long it has been available, but I've never seen it beforehttp://www.wolftech.ncsu.edu/tracster/

and for the freshman . . . don't forget to use school tool on here or the grade distributions from registration and records.

Sweet--thanks for posting that.

yeah I didn't know about it either and then stumbled upon a link from the MAE website to it.

If you have any problems with it, let me know.I'd also like to mention it's just an open beta. There are still a few kinks that need to be worked out with it.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 4:01 PM. Reason : .]

it doesn't let me add the online section of ENG 331you click the add button and it updates, but doesn't add the course to the course list

Looking into it.

If I can make suggestions to improve the tool....Expand the search features. It would be nice to search for say all 400 level classes for a given class code. A lot of times most of my classes are going to be say 600 level MEA classes. I might not take all of them, but it would be nice to see them all at once so I can easily pick and choose instead of searching for each one. Also, does it have the tool where it would generate all possible schedules given some constraints like xtracs used to do? That was a kick ass feature I'd like to see again.

hondaguy: Should be fixed now.As far as your suggestion, it's something a number of people have suggested, so I'll more than likely be adding it some time down the line.Edit: If at any point the display gets messed up for anyone -- like a class isn't draw in right (generally happens when you add a class that has a time conflict and a different section of it is already on your schedule), just refresh the page. All your classes will be saved.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 5:48 PM. Reason : .]

Is ACC 280 not offered in the spring?
10/16/2006 8:28:59 PM
for questions like that . . . refer to the course lists from the registration and records website.http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/courses/index.htmlfollowing the links . . . it doesn't show up . . . so I would say not this spring.infact . . . ACC 280 doesn't even show up as being a course that is offered here.http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/reg_records/crs_cat/ACC.html#ACC200[Edited on October 17, 2006 at 11:03 AM. Reason : ]

^that's what i've wondered for a couple of semesters. haven't needed it yet but i'm closing in on graduation so figured i ought to see about this class. meet with my advisor tomorrow. i believe it should be ACC 210 or 220, rather than 280. thanks.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. No promises they'll all get in (or when they'll get added, since I'm ridiculously busy), but having them all written down in advance is always helpful. Also, any bugs you find -- let me know about those too. Thanks.[Edited on October 20, 2006 at 10:36 PM. Reason : .]

If you accidentally log yourself out of packtracks in FF, it logs you out of this as well, and you can't search.ACS?
10/21/2006 12:33:01 AM
Logging out probably kills your WRAP credentials and you need them to access the site. Are you usng tabs or are we talking two, completely separate windows?
10/21/2006 2:56:35 AM
That actually appears to be an error in the way that ETSS (formerly ACS and NCS) handle the WRAP cookies in general.I just tested this...If you login to SysNews and Pack Tracks, then logout of Pack Tracks, you're logged out of BOTH.If you login to SysNews and Pack Tracks, then logout of SysNews, you're still logged in w/ Pack Tracks. That suggests that ETSS is clearing ALL of your WRAP cookie information, not just from http://www.acs.ncsu.edu.

^^Figured. Tabs.

so why don't they get the word out on this a little more? I have only seen the link for it in the one place.
