"firby" (~3.5 years old) and "tweak!" (~1.5 years old) are in need of a home that can give them more attention. my fiance has has firby since he was a baby, and we got tweak! around christmas as a companion for firby. however, we just can't make the time to give them the extra attention they deserve. (This picture is from around christmas, when tweak! was still small.)firby is sweet and loves chin scratches. tweak! is more high-strung and needs work with being handled. they are bonded to each other and can't be separated. they will come with their 2-story all-wire cage, hide box, food dish, water bottle, dust bath, wheel, treats, running ball, and any remaining food/dust/bedding. we also built a shelf that the cage sits in, which you can have as well.all we want is to know they'll go to a good home that will give them the time and attention they deserve. we're asking for a small adoption fee to ensure the adopter is serious. these boys aren't food, or clothing, or re-sale to pet stores.

I'm really interested in the boys. I won't be back in Raleigh until Sunday night though, so I guess that gives me time to think about it.

^that's fine. i should also note that they currently live with 4 cats and a dog. obviously we don't let them loose to run around (we wish we could), but they are definitely used to being stared at by other animals.

I'll take the younger one. I can provide a caring home (no other animals), money, and other chinchilla he can play with.[Edited on October 14, 2006 at 3:25 PM. Reason : God damn that cage is small. ]

the photo is misleading (that photo is from the narrow side of the first level). the cage is actually a decent size. we wish we could have given them bigger (3-4 levels), but just couldn't.unfortunately, we can't split them up.[Edited on October 14, 2006 at 3:48 PM. Reason : better pics]

aww how cute. Sadly my apt environment is no place for a chinchilla. I'd take them if i thought they'd be happy here.

Man, I dunno, what I can do with an older male. I might be able to stick them downstairs, if you give me the cage, (which will be replaced momentarily)

They come as a pair. Period. No splitting up. And if I even get a whiff that you're not the right person for them....complaining about one thing or another.......they don't go to you. Period. We were going to put the money into making a bigger cage for them, but I just do not have the time to give them attention like I use to back in college. That is the reason that Firby is very friendly. Tweak! needs work. With our jobs, we just could not give it to him. Tweak! is there for Firby. They have bonded and I cannot let that be broken. I'm going to be reviewing who gets my boys whether they like it or not, so you had best be serious.

I can take them (my girl seems to think she would like them).

Fyi to anyone else interested in chinchillas, they can live up to 20 years, so it is a lifetime commitment, not an on the whim pet. Also, those roll balls can be a death trap due to easy overheating.

How many would it take to make a pair of gloves?
10/24/2006 4:25:10 PM
^more than the gloves would be worth.
