So I took out the motherboard and something fell. I look on the back and there is a huge black scorchmark.

A 2 inch cockroach had gotten wedged in there and got electricuted. He was the cause of the shorts that restarted the server.

I didn't think to take pictures before I vacuumed him up.

We have rats in our lab. Sometimes birds get in here too. And tons of bugs. And the average temperature is about 50 degrees (45 in the winter, 60 in the summer) ... Luckily, no dead servers/computers yet.
