Why is he a moron? He left, became a middle first round pick and is making $$. Had he stayed, he would have been the best player on a horrible team. Maybe he'd improve his stock some, but next year's draft class will be much stronger than this past year's class so I think he made a right decision for himself.

I agree with you that he did the best thing for himself by going pro.

But your "he would have been the best player on a horrible team" is way off. Our team is quite good, but the problem is that we're about as deep as a kiddie pool. Add Ced back in the mix, and we're a top 4 team in the conference. Right now, we get one guy in foul trouble, and you'll have braxton albritton tripping over himself on the court...

well, let me rephrase it to say that our starting 5 (Grant, Costner, Fells, atsur, McCauley) is good.

not great, but good.

far from horrible.

we just have no depth, which will make for a rough season. But to say we're horrible is just patently false.

with the way grant looked at the end you put him on the wing and ced on the inside with fells also. then atsur outside hitting 3s you have yourself a damn good team. we would be top 15 with ced.

^^^ced inside, with fells also (on the court). you knew what i meant. grant is a 20ppg guy. we would have had 2 20ppg guys 2 10ppg guys and whoever else wants to step up. we would have been top 15 easily and not that much worse than duke.

^^^we would not be a top 15 team w/ ced back this year. face it, like it has been said 20 times already on this thread and countless others on the board, we have no depth. all good teams will have to do to us is use their depth, get us in foul trouble, and we will have no one; we might end up like clemson did against unc that year and only have 4 players left

^ It's one thing when the seven players in your rotation are all McDonald's All Americans, are coached by Coach K, and atleast two of the guys are All-ACC.

It's a whole another thing when one or two are McDonald's, none are All-ACC, and they are coached by a guy who's never coached a college basketball game. Don't try to compare our team (even with Ced) to any recent Duke team.

Just wait. Actually, in a NORMAL ACC season....this team would be bottom three. However, ACC basketball next year might possibly rival ACC football. So we have a chance of being a middle of the pack team.

I'm optimistic about the future of the team. But I'm realistic about the next few years...and we are going to suck ass for at least two years.
