Octoberfest style beer festival tomorrow on the east side of Manhattan. I know hardly anyone on this board lives in NYC, but I was wondering what you guys thought of this beer list.Eh, nevermind that I can't cut and paste the list. And I'm not typing 40 different brews into this thread. Anyway its 6-10 Saturday on a pier on the Hudson River for $47. All you can drink of course.Check out the website if it sounds interesting to you. http://www.beeronthepier.comIts also done in Chicago too.

Nothing exceptional, but there are a few nice breweries there...Dogfish Head, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose, Southern Tier. Captain Lawrence looks good but I've never tried any of their shit.So pretty much all of that is probably sold where you are, and $47 is steep, but the pier seems like a nice venue.[Edited on October 6, 2006 at 1:42 PM. ^$47 seems steep, but when you compare it to 4 hrs drinking in a bar in Manhattan it comes out pretty reasonable for the premium beers you get God knows how many times I've had a $35 bar tab for 7 bud lights!!! (before tip!)

not bad if you look at it that way, I was just comparing it to some other beer fests

rather go to the one in Chicago

Yeah, they have one of these on the Bay in San Francisco in 2 weeks for Oktoberfest. 30 brews and 35 bucks to drink.. I'm gonna go definitely... hopefully the weather is nice.[Edited on October 6, 2006 at 1:57 PM. Reason : x]

Hell its not that hard to run up a $47 bar tab. I would say for an all you can drink event it might be worth it.

i thought that nyc was to cosmopolitan to give events names that rhyme

Beer Festival in Durham tomorrow as well.LOVE THE BEER

I like beer, but those places are usually full of hideous trolls that want to talk to everyone in the crowd so I avoid the festivals.

I thought this thread was about fishing.

^heheThe Meade FUCKED ME UP Good times, but I dunno if I'd do it again. Standing in line drinking for 4 hrs can get old, regardless of the brew quality.
