When I left college back in 03, beer pong was the game of choice.come to find out after moving to a fairly transient city with people from all over the country, that cornhole is a predominately midwestern game.why when and how did people in NC pick up cornhole over beer pong?i have been tailgating every season since ive graduated and this is the first time i've seen it as prolific as it has been.do you guys play this that much outside of tailgating? did we get a huge class of midwestern kids?whats the deal?

"Watch out for your cornhole, man!"
10/6/2006 11:11:09 AM
what the hell is cornhole
10/6/2006 11:15:00 AM
its entertaining and easily transportable.i cant fit a pong table in my 2 door car, but i can fit cornhole boards.
i agree its a great gamebut like tracing AIDS back to the guy who fucked the monkey in africaim just curious how it became such a phenomenon
10/6/2006 11:16:44 AM
if this is what i think it is we played it at camp when i was little, so its not just a midwestern thing
10/6/2006 11:17:07 AM
as a drinking game, it's as prolific in the midwest as beer pong has been hereand prior to this season, i never saw ANYONE play it, let alone ever even heard of itsoyou're not really value added to the thread.[Edited on October 6, 2006 at 11:21 AM. Reason : .]

i've seen that done for some years now. i definitely remember someone playing it in the Trinity lot in 2004. and yes i've seen the blongo ball thing as well.
10/6/2006 12:13:29 PM
i have no doubt that if it's in the regular lots now, that it probably was being played in the student lot last year or the year before, i just never noticed it as widespread as before.
10/6/2006 12:51:49 PM
i played this game a decent amount in chicago over the past year - it's called baggo though
10/6/2006 12:53:29 PM
well it entirely depends on where you're from as to what you call itsimilarly to how if you go alot of places they call beer pong beruit, and everyone gets a big hardon because they know "what it's really called"that also further reinforces my point that it's a predominately midwestern played game
10/6/2006 1:09:11 PM
Packguy you are sucha faggot.
10/6/2006 1:11:23 PM
sk8 k8te
10/6/2006 1:12:49 PM
can someone please tell me WHY THE FUCK beer pong is called Beruit!?!?! Did it originate from Lebanon??? Am I missing something here?
10/6/2006 1:14:49 PM
yeah i dont get that either
10/6/2006 1:15:13 PM
I like to call it stupid fucking tools either in a frat or posing as one
10/6/2006 1:17:44 PM
^huh?

It was all over the place when I went to Grad School in Ohio. That, and fucking Euchre. People, it's time for some real border control over these yankee hordes baying at our doors. NC is under attack.
10/6/2006 1:33:45 PM
i was noticing that this season too.i'd like to set up a damn horseshoe pit.
10/6/2006 1:54:25 PM
^^how many fucking times does it have to be pounded in your (i use the term collectively) head that people from the Mid-west (ohio, etc.) are NOT Yankees
10/6/2006 1:56:01 PM
of course they are.

the game originated from Ohio. i'm born and raised here in NC and had never heard of the game, but my roomate is from Ohio and has his own boards. We play it a lot at home and whenever we tailgate. its a pretty big deal up there and very addicting
10/6/2006 2:56:09 PM
It is addicting, so best to stay away from that shit. Get yourself some proper games son.

To be honest, I'd never heard of Cornhole until this summer. I went to a family re-union up in Northern Kentucky/Ohio area and my cousins play cornhole all the time. I had never seen it here, but at tailgates this year I've seen more than a few people playing
10/6/2006 3:23:50 PM
never heard of cornhole before i came to grad school in atlanta - then we played it all the timealso had people get angry about people calling it flip-cup instead of cupsand people angry calling beruit beer pongof course at the naval academy we played the fantastic game of drink the beer - time was limited so we couldn't be creative - that keg had to go!
