When you use *228 to update your phone- I want to say its for roaming capbilities, but I might be wrong- have you noticed any difference in the signal strength or quality, especially in rural areas?

When traveling to Raleigh from the Outer Banks, there are some dead spots on hwy 64 for me. These spots got progressively worse everytime I used *228. I've noticed with my new phone that these spots are not nearly as bad.

I'm willing to accept that it may just be the new phone, but another person asked if I had had this issue (they too were experiencing the same thing when using *228).

Anyone else have this problem? I'm trying to see if its because its not a digital signal, or the phone, or some verizon bullshit, or what. Opinions?

As far as I know...and I'm pretty sure thats what the verizon rep told me at the time too. She said it was something like 'verizon is constantly building new towers, so you need to update every 30 days, blah blah...'
