My g/f needs to make a table in ms word...but she needs some of the blocks to be different sizes than others...how do you make different sized colums and rows in a word table? I just messed w/ it for like a min or two and couldn't figure it out....figured one of you guys would know.

As long as the vertical columns are the same just click the table button at the top and create whatever size you need. Then use your mouse on the lines to move it back and forth. For a nice looking paper she shouldn't try to do anything crazy if she wants to maintain a good look.

i really wish they taught MS Word and Excel competency like formatting and stuff in high schooli want to slit my wrists when people send me excel sheets without cells wrapped and resized and the text is just overlapping into the adjacent cell and they never think about the guy who is going to print the document out or anything beyond that

its for a class, some gay computer class, and in the book she told me it just said "play with it till you figure it out"...so of course she calls me while i'm at work. She just called back just a second ago and told me she kept clicking and finally figured it out...thanx tho man. /thread[Edited on October 4, 2006 at 1:38 PM. Reason : typo]

create a 1 by 1 table. split and merge cells progressively as needed. if you build the table this way, each of the cells should be independently resizable.
