So was checking out some cool art from some of our university's local graduates when I stumbled upon this gem. I checked out some of this guy's stuff and it was soooo awesome. The use of color is so lush and detailed. I really like stuff that incorporates abstract into realism, a lot like Matisse. Anyway, so here's his website:http://www.mesart.com/jcarpenterHere's his link on facebook:http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2212194693And here are some of his pictures:[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 9:49 PM. meh, I'm not really impressedthis was the only one i liked (if it lets me hyper link)otherwise, I dont like how he tries to hold your hand through the interpretation of his work, like you not allowed to make your own judgements

Why pay $2,000 for that when I can get a blood angel for $5,000?http://www.jasonmyrold.com/Document/Artwork/Blood%20Angel/092800.htm

^^Yeah, that AND I could do without the descriptions of what his work means. Most of it is obvious and lacks thoughtfulness. This guy needs to play on his technique, not his boring observations.[Edited on October 4, 2006 at 3:32 AM. Reason : sss]

he needs to quit watching movies and start living in his head.quit the brief case and paint the truth....

I grew up with this kid, his parents are my unofficial aunt and uncle. Nice guy, I like his stuff. I'm too poor to buy real art right now, but still...good stuff.

his technique is good... but his artwork is just alright imo. A lot of people have good technique, it's their creativity which sets an artist apart from someone who can draw/paint/sculpt. Technique is just a means to an end.i do like the colors he chose for the suitcase piece, but overall the subject matter bores me.

^ agreehe's got some talent.... could live without the small essays about each piece though.... either condense it to a sentence or a phrase or don't have anything...he should spice things up a bit perhaps... take a few more chances with some subjects...
