Anyone heard anything about this? A friend just told me there's supposed to be a protest of some sort on Tuesday.Any additional info would be appreciated if anybody has it.

god damn hippies.

9/29/2006 2:57:38 PM
i'll fucking be theregive me a time and place
9/29/2006 3:00:22 PM
eh, it sounds like good thought... but if the the "big-wig" WPC donors can't get the tailgating hours restriction pushed back, I'd be highly surprised if a student protest is going to get the administration's attention.students boycotting the games might get someone's attention, but that would never happen...
9/29/2006 3:02:13 PM
thats nice at all, but it wont even matter
9/29/2006 3:03:05 PM
what if I strap bombs to my waist and wear a towel around my head while protesting the ticket bullshit?that will get some attention
9/29/2006 3:04:42 PM
^^^I know I'm going to regret not knowing this, but... "WPC"?
9/29/2006 3:05:54 PM
wolfpack club, fuck even I knew that
9/29/2006 3:06:40 PM
this university as far as student relations go has got to be one of the worst in the countrysuch a shame, we have such an excellent reputatio for researchits like the abusive father in the seemingly perfect family down the road
9/29/2006 3:06:50 PM
^^haha that's why I admitted up front "I know I'm going to regret this" I'm new to the wide world of Wolfpack sports acronyms (hell it's the first year I've actually been able to go to a game instead of working) -- cut me some slack plz
9/29/2006 3:10:11 PM
i'de be ok with the new ticket policy if the extended tailgating a few hours
9/29/2006 3:21:23 PM
^ that could make 99% of the people happy who don't like the current ticketing idea, but the administration is too good to do that.
9/29/2006 3:23:28 PM
A protest on Tuesday?I'm so there I'll post about it.
9/29/2006 3:27:51 PM
ok, here's the official story from random101:
9/29/2006 3:38:36 PM
i'm just pissed that it's almost a guaranteed fact that sections 14 and 15 will be completely empty when the fsu game kicks offthat will be pathetic
9/29/2006 3:45:57 PM
^ yeah, i would wait until after the FSU when everything is going to be all fucked up. I would think a protest about a sensible and working ticket policy would be more effective, although I think a protest for tailgating is in order is well. Either way, submit a story. http://thewolfweb.com/story_submit.aspx

^done. thx for the suggestion

The chancellor is actually out of town, and wasn't scheduled to be back until Thursday...but last I heard he's flying back early to talk to students and campus safety about the possibility of extending tailgate hours by 1 or 2 hours
10/2/2006 11:38:50 AM
they should just extend that shit 2 hours.. then we stfu and they still pwn us
10/2/2006 12:29:34 PM
10/2/2006 12:36:55 PM
if those pricks boycott the 1st QTR i hope they do not get in the gate at all
10/2/2006 12:53:10 PM
i need a ticket to the FSU gamethat's two games in a row i'm been screwed over by the system
10/2/2006 3:18:18 PM
well, if they do boycott, i may have a shot for getting a decent seat by arriving at like 7
10/2/2006 3:25:18 PM
if they did boycott it would really make a point though
10/2/2006 3:47:02 PM
^what point is that? That students are too drunk and unorganized to walk into the stadium on time? Because that is what america will think...there's no one to defend you from ESPNno offense to anyone, but boycotting the game will only ruin your chances of ever getting more student tickets or ever being heard...and don't be surprised when we close the student gates right before the 2nd quarter because they see students just standing there outside the stadium[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 4:08 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 4:07:35 PM
^^a boycott would never work though -- the more people that do it, the greater the incentive for other people *not* to do it since they'd have a better chance at getting decent seats. it'd be easier to orchestrate everyone in student seating turning their backs to the field at some predetermined point in the game.the downside is that it could be taken as an attack on the football team, and they haven't done anything wrong.
10/2/2006 4:08:32 PM
that would be a pretty dickish thing to do, they would need a shit ton of cops if they did thatbut not going to the 1st qtr is stupid, its not the teams fault the administration sucks
10/2/2006 4:09:33 PM
exactly don't penalize the team, who devote countless hours to practicing and representing this school. start a chant or something, or do like the others are doing and protest in front of the Chancellor's Office. but if you do want to protest by not going to the first quarter and it in turn gives me better seats go right ahead, especially since i have a lab that goes from 4:10-6:55 (hopefully it gets out early).
10/2/2006 4:15:44 PM
yeah and the new policy makes boycotting the 1st qtr extra stupid, because the empty seats would be the crappy seats that arent on tv anyways[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 4:18 PM. Reason : extra]
10/2/2006 4:18:06 PM
just do a sign protest, get everyone to cheer and shit but make signs that protest our administration for the cameras.
10/2/2006 4:25:19 PM
boycotting the first quarter just tells people you care more about tailgating than the game itselfif that's the case, shut the fuck up and stop calling yourself a state fan.nothing wrong with protest, in fact i'm all for it. just don't boycot games.
10/2/2006 4:27:46 PM
so, the football ticket system and tailgating still sucks in raleigh...hasn't changed since i graduated in 03 and 04. only alums matter, everyone must understand this--ya'll should have seen the year that everyone lined up and 200 yard dashed to the ticket window...i think someone got trampled in the process
