They're dropping Citgo as the brand of gasoline they carry. They are doing this mostly b/c Citgo is owned by the Venezualian Gov't and their leader is a nutjob. Thats 2,100 locations in the USGood job 7 Eleven!(read in the paper this morning, sorry no link to post but i'm sure its out there)[Edited on September 28, 2006 at 1:20 PM. Reason : k]

9/28/2006 1:32:02 PM
^yeah...well...THAT MAN DOESNT LIKE OUR PRESIDENT!
9/28/2006 2:15:37 PM
Why don't we go rabble about it in Chit Chat? Or on The Daily Show? Or in a classroom? Or around the water cooler?
9/28/2006 2:17:13 PM
nah...7/11 is doing the right thing. if they dont like citgo gas they shouldnt buy it. way to go 7/11
9/28/2006 2:19:41 PM
That's the damned truth.
9/28/2006 2:20:41 PM
Seriously. I don't think they're dropping the gasoline supplier BECAUSE he doesn't like our president. They're dropping it because they feel it is the most financially helpful move considering Chavez' imiage in the U.S.Also, I doubt many Americans don't want his gasoline BECAUSE he doesn't like our president. I think its because he came in and called our president Satan and basically made a giant ass of himself on global television. I couldn't care less if he dislikes a politician in my country, but he should be respectable about it.GG Capitalism.

Good job 7-Eleven for carrying comic books again!

hats off to 7-11, but ive been avoiding citgo for a while now. glad to see america hopefully will be forced to soon, as this would be a bad plan (to stick with citgo) in the capitalist sense. capitalism always wins.
9/28/2006 5:08:02 PM
are there any 7/11's in north carolina anymore? all the ones i knew about were bought out by circle K years ago
9/28/2006 5:09:33 PM

9/28/2006 5:24:08 PM
They were thinking about their own branded gas anyway.
9/28/2006 5:25:07 PM
the entertaining thing is that 7-Eleven founded Citgo... and 7-Eleven sold Citgo to Venezuela...
9/28/2006 5:54:18 PM

i dont care where i get my gas from
9/28/2006 6:59:40 PM
I'm in florida for a month and theres a big deal over Citgo down here. Apparently the state gave them an exclusive contract to provide gas along the florida turnpike that doesn't expire for a few more years. After Chavez's remarks there is a huge public outcry to replace them with another service.
9/28/2006 7:13:22 PM
its gas, its coming from a country thats fucked up regardless.

hahahaha, people are stupid. Chavez hasn't done shit but bluster AFTER the US tried to support a coup in his country. Meanwhile back at the ranch, we are best friends forever with the oppressive saudi regime that inspires the vast majority of international terror.
9/28/2006 9:06:00 PM
^ Well, I can imagine the disdain. To the best of my knowledge, Saudi Arabia is only more oppressive by degrees (disagreement with the government gets you jailed in both countries). However, you don't see the Saudi Prince oppressing women in Times Square and on the floor of the U.N. In other words, the Sauds had the good sense to leave their shit at home, Chavez did not.
