theres the entire set on video from this summer where they played the rock am ring in germany, im sure if you searched around you could find it, i know the video is on torrents. you cant really tell a difference from now then before, they know the solos spot on and he sounds so much better than that joke of a thing they played at the 2002 mtv music awards.also rumors that izzy might be coming back...[Edited on September 25, 2006 at 6:42 PM. 9/25/2006 7:32:28 PM
one of my favorite bands of all time (maybe my absolute favorite), and i have no interest whatsoever in seeing them with that line up.
9/26/2006 9:06:19 AM
never liked the band myself
9/27/2006 1:10:28 AM
oh so thats why 96.1 has been playing gnr nonstop for the last few months
9/27/2006 1:58:37 AM
The Concert is on Nov. 2nd now... They added a date somewhere and had to push back the Greensboro show... All the reviews of the previous shows have been pretty bad... Axl came on stage 2 hours late for his show in L.A.
9/27/2006 9:58:33 AM
Oh robin fink, why have you done this

I kinda want to goappetite is betterbut I've always wanted to see GNR
9/27/2006 5:24:46 PM
GNR just might be one of the worst cases of a band being totally badass and getting reduced to nothingness. Which sucks, because in their prime, they totally rocked some shit. Was that show the video up there is from only GNR playing, or was it a music festival or something because there are a shit ton of people there and the places seems to be rocking. Hell, I'd go if they come to Atlanta.[Edited on September 27, 2006 at 5:31 PM. Reason : /]
9/27/2006 5:29:36 PM
the tour is just going to be plagued with cancellations, late arrivals, etc like every other gnr tour
9/27/2006 6:26:24 PM

i went.i have gnr bootlegs from '86 up until 2001, and axl has never sounded better live in my opinion. he hit every note and then some. he sang the end to sweet child which i have never ever seen before in any bootleg. i'm not counting the live era cd because axl re-recorded his vocals on it in the studio.finck killed it. i'm a big nin fan but he wasn't able to really showcase his talent in that band. here he's allowed to show his stuff and i think in the end it's a better band for him. while the show in terms of energy and such did not compare at all to original gnr, performance wise it was top-notch. i still would rather see the original line-up because most of the new members look like fucking clowns, axl included. however, they were all talented muscians and it was a great show. much better than i expected.[Edited on November 4, 2006 at 4:55 PM. I went to the concert. I was a bit embarassed (is that the right term) by the lack of tunout for the concert. I regretted never having seen G'N'R in concert when they were together in the 90's, but frankly I was just a bit too young (and my parents probably wouldn't have taken me after they saw the rape scene album art from appetite). This concert totally made up for it.Sebastian Bach opened the night - outside of his Skid Row songs, I really didn't care what he was doing...we spent most of his set and Papa Roach's set watching the UL-WVU game in the back room of the box. But both bands delivered on their "hits".Concert started at 8...Papa Roach finished up around 10:15. I figured G'N'R would be out around 10:45 and play for 1:15 or so. Well, 10:45 came and went, as did 11, and 11:15, and 11:30. I was worried he was never going to show up (it's happened before - promoters in Baltimore promise full ticket refunds if he doesn't come out for that show)Finally a little after 11:30 the place went dark, and soon after you heard "Do you know where you are?" - crowd went nuts. Here's the set-list from the show:Welcome To The JungleSo EasyMr. BrownstoneLive & Let DieKnockin' On Heaven's DoorBetterRobin Finck soloSweet Child O’ MineYou Could Be MineDizzy Reed Piano JamThe BluesBand IntroductionRichard Fortus solo/(“Beautiful” w/ Finck)Out Ta Get MeIRSPiano Jam into November RainBumblefoot solo (“Don’t Cry”)Rocket QueenMadagascarMy Michelle (w/ Sebastian Bach)You're CrazyPatienceNightrainChinese Democracy (encore)Paradise City (encore)Yes - 25 songs. Almost the entire appetite album, just 5 new songs which weren't bad but certainly weren't on par with the old stuff. He played until 2am - hell the beer and food vendors were closed before they even started. It was fucking great. Sucks if you missed it. If I had the time, I'd go to another few shows around the country - it was that good.

i'm glad that i didn't go
11/6/2006 8:24:50 PM
