ahaha paul walker plays the dude from the fast and the furious in every movie
9/25/2006 10:56:59 AM
I would say Clint Eastwood more than cancels out Paul Walker.
9/25/2006 12:36:43 PM

9/25/2006 10:45:04 PM
Paul Walker did a great job in Running Scaredso id be willing to give it a chance before i shitcan it
9/25/2006 10:59:38 PM
I wouldn't say he did a great job
9/25/2006 11:26:11 PM
the book was fucking brilliant and equally horrifying, i'm really looking forward to the movie.he's also doing a companion film in japanese about the guys defending the island. the general is played by ken watanabe from the last samurai and batman begins.
9/25/2006 11:38:37 PM
wtf is wrong with ryan phillipe? i def don't see him in the same crowd as paul walkerSHUT THAT CUNT'S MOUTH OR I'LL COME OVER THERE AND FUCKSTART HER HEADseriously, whats so bad about him?
9/26/2006 12:26:01 AM
paul walker is definitely worse, his acting is like "yeah?" "cool" "whaddup" "kickin"
9/26/2006 10:13:01 AM
other than the fact that it is hte same war, how does this resemble saving private ryan at all??i mean some would argue the pacific front is almost even a different war.
9/26/2006 2:13:35 PM
as in a war movie because its going to be hyped up that much, i wasnt referring to plot or the battles...this is also listed a drama, meaning it will probably be more like thin red line or pearl harbor vs. saving private ryan
9/26/2006 4:06:07 PM
the kid from billy elliot gets mad fucked up in this movie
9/27/2006 12:04:54 AM

10/2/2006 1:20:57 PM
anyone seen it yet?i think i'll go sometime this week as a study break.
10/23/2006 6:02:32 AM
I saw it this weekend. While I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone that enjoys war movies more than I do and enjoys Clint Eastwood as a director and actor, I was rather disappointed.I thought that it was very slow and tried a bit to hard to drive home stereotypes. I guess that maybe I expected it to be more like Saving Private Ryan and/or Band of Brothers, but the war was a backdrop in the movie and maybe that is where my expectations were and why I was summarily a bit disappointed.YMMV.
10/23/2006 6:44:21 AM
it was good, but not great.the biggest problem was the screenplay - it used a really fractured kind of flashback storytelling. i think that it was just a little too true to the book. as far as driving home stereotypes, thats one of the pitfalls of making a movie out a true story.the scene tacked on at the end of the son at his father's deathbed seemed really irrelevant.the indian guy from joe dirt gave a great performance.
10/23/2006 12:36:06 PM
He was horrible in Wind TalkersI hate that movieCage kills 4 enemies with 3 shots, HORRIBLE
10/23/2006 1:01:04 PM
I heard it was a snoozer
10/23/2006 1:01:35 PM
The old war movies in the 80's were better than that peice of crap. I have never seen more orange blood in my life.
10/23/2006 1:04:09 PM
it was john woo making a wwii film with nicholas cage and christian slater. it pains me that someone in hollywood gave that the green light.kicking wing redeemed himself in this one.is it weird that at any given point there is only one working indian actor in hollywood?
10/23/2006 1:12:26 PM
saw it this weekend. didn't think it was that good. it had NO cohesion. shit was all over the place. if you haven't see it, save your money or go see the departed
10/23/2006 1:17:06 PM
Ryan Phillipe is 100x the actor that Paul Walker is. I don't even want to scroll up and see who posted something about their supposed likeness.and I don't see how it was "all over the place"...it was typical for a movie ridden with rudiments of flashback. If you couldn't follow it, well, I just feel sorry for you.[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 3:39 PM. Reason : eh]
10/23/2006 3:37:45 PM
who said i couldn't follow it? it wasn't some complete mind fuck for christ's sake.i said it had no cohesion, but nice try. this movie sucked in my opinion.[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 3:50 PM. Reason : .]

I saw it tonight. It was an OK of a movie, but the real moving part of the movie was seeing a few older men leaving the theater in tears. It turns out that they were in the battle of Iwo Jima.
10/24/2006 10:17:33 PM
I read that among younger viewers reviews weren't that stellar, but a lot of the older veterans think that its better than saving private ryan.
