I haven't seen anything anywhere yet on the terrible unsportsmanlike conduct shown by a large majority of the VTech team against Duke on Saturday. Several late hits went uncalled, several were intended to literally take Thad Lewis out of the game (which they ultimately did) by going after his head, either puching him or hitting him full force. The kid that eventually did take him out of the game got two personal fouls for unsportsmanlike conduct and the refs didn't eject him. Both were on hits to Thad to the head, well after the play. He should have been ejected before he got his second flag because there was no mistaking those hits were intented to harm. I'm sick of all this "sportsmanship" crap that came out after Hodge hit Blake and then nothing has been done since to anyone (except Chris Paul since the media showed it over and over and over again) when they do things much worse--especially on the level that VTech took it to on Saturday. Has anyone heard about any possible suspensions for any of their players?

Let them. The rest of the ACC blows cock this year we might as well have one team with their balls intact still to save face.

You know, I was never a fan of VT, but I always had respect for their fans, team, and Coach Beamer, but in the past two years, i'm starting to lose much of that repsect. Their fans were very classy and dignified when we beat them in Blacksburg 2 years ago and were very classy and complimentary of our team's play last year after they beat us, but the conduct of their players on and off the field has me questioning the integerity of the the coaching staff.

You just weren't paying attention b/c they were in teh Big East. They've always had a rap sheet the size of Miami. They win a lot though so it gets overlooked...

its a dilemma due to the fact that there is no punishment really.in the NFL fines have an effect on these situations.you cant fine an ncaa player.i didnt see the vt game, but say in the Tenn/UF game where the one florida DE kidney punched then kneed the ball carrier after the play, no fumble. 15 yards, no real consequence.in the NFL, thatd warrant a fine. The NCAA player essentially only gets an earfull from the coach or maybe sat down (which he didnt get either of in this situation)..its just hard to police, esp. when you leave a good bit of the disciplinary actions up to the individual coaching staffs.

^^ Fair point.

It's not hard when it's obvious. On the hit that took Thad out of the game, the guy that him was five yards out after Thad released the ball. He came at him full force and went right for his head. I was listening to it on the radio and the guys went on and on about how terrible it looked and how intentional it was, and the two other late hits on him. The rule is also if you get 2 personal fouls you get ejected--that wasn't enforced in this situation and they weren't iffy calls where someone was provoked and retaliated, etc. The half time score was "16-0 VTech and 3-0 VTech on late hits to the QB" as announced by the guys calling the game. There were several players taunting and shoving the Duke players unprovoked and like I said, many things went unflagged.

I hate VT and I wish harm on there entire team. There is one guy on the team every year that I wish I could hit with my car...This years winner is Aaron Rouse #36.He had 3 personal fouls and the one that knocked the Duke QB out was so so late and he absolutly used his helmet as a weapon.Last year it was Jimmy Williams...and a little bit Marcus Vick but he was too easy to hate.2 years ago DeAngelo HalletcetcetcI hate them...they are a disgrace to the ACC and there fans are more delusional than UNC and Notre Dame's combined.

we're ones to talk about discipline problems

we shoot people

our players do not intentionally go after the other teams quarterback looking to hurt him. the fact of the matter was, rouse ran five yards after Lewis threw the ball and hit him helmet to helmet knocking him out of the game. couple that with his previous roughing the passer and you get intention. No excuse for that behavior and bringing NC State into is nothing more than bullshit.

Just another reason why there should be fighting in football. That is all.

VT would beat the everloving shit out of Duke in a royal rumble. I'd pay to see that shit though.

the ACC will be reviewingi'm more mad at beamer for not yanking rouse after the second penalty and grabbing hihm by the facemasak and embarassing him on tv
