The game played in threads doesn't deserve any objectively baseless attributions of merit to particular individual people, or their ideas, only the combinations of them demonstrated within the context of the thread. In other words, threads are like games whose winners are defined by popularity contests of some kind or another.And to a degree, that means that threads can't be won at all. Is this true or false?

There are plenty of threads that were outright wins for people.Player X states something stupid, Player Y points it out in such clear terms that even Player X can't deny he/she was wrong.And anyways, popularity contests can be won, too.[Edited on September 15, 2006 at 7:20 PM. Reason : .]
