So it's gotta be big, if it was on BBC. They showed a reporter driving it around, and he remarked that it was completely silent. BTW, it cost a billion to develop it. Could be on sale very soon. Unlike the BMW in the other thread, this is a fully hydrogen powered vehicle.THE FUTURE IS HERE!GM demonstrates working Sequel fuel cell prototype

awesome...although again...probably will never see the streets of the usa...especially if it came out while bush was in office...then what excuse would he heave to invade the rest of the middle east
9/13/2006 5:20:00 AM
id drive it
9/13/2006 5:37:23 AM
gas companies will never let these vehicles hit the market. or they make it more expensive to drive. just look at ethanol. only .10 cheaper per gallon and 2-3mph less. ha. ok. right.

Funny how the General gets the rep by most the garage heads as old as fuck and noninnovative because of their use of pushrod technology, when it looks like they may have beat the best of the European and Asian car makers to market on the first true hydrogen car.Fuel companies may try their best to block this, but GM is a BIG lobbying arm and has a much better chance than any little pissant startup car maker with a great idea like this and no way to get it to market and distribution. GM is probably salivating to get this to market in the US to try and recapture their flagging marketshare. They have the greatest distribution channels in the country, so this would be a great idea for here. Lets just see how it goes about getting the gasoline dealers to start stocking hydrogen filling pumps at stations.

Why do they keep wasting money on hydrogen powered cars. Where do you get the hydrogen from?
9/13/2006 4:18:31 PM
im pretty anti-bush, but he isnt the reason this wont hit the streets anytime soon. thats just so retarded, bush would love a car like this to hit the streets while he was in office so he could go visit the factory on a pr trip

well, what they say is true. you are either a redneck or an idiot to vote for bush.the man makes more mistakes then anyone can keep track of so you pull out 'oh it rained blah blah blah' bullshit when he gets called out on it....way to go! I don't see you trying to defend his actions...instead insult and make fun of the people calling bush out.[Edited on September 13, 2006 at 8:41 PM. Reason : fda]

so if kerry was president, we'd see a huge influx of new automobiles. right. it's not about supporting/voting for bush, it's the fact that you're so ignorant you really think bush is why certain vehicles aren't imported. even if it was tops on his agenda, his influence/power over such a thing is minimal. blame the parts of the government that actually have the power to change such things if you want to point fingers. i'm all for calling a president out for their mistakes, but come on... at least remove your blinders and leave the blame to the things that are actually his fault.

oh it's scarcasm now? funny how you started out trying to defend it, now it's just scarcasm
9/13/2006 9:49:22 PM
1) i was being sarcastic about bush being the reason we don't have certain cars here like the peugot.2) i wasn't being sarcastic that if the oportunity presented itself, bush would prevent sales of hydrogen cars in the USA because it would effect the demand on oil...thus his war on 'terror' would lose its cause. But since this car isn't even ready for sale in the US and won't be bofore bush's term ends...then its just speculation based off of his passed policies and 'decision making skills'.and again...any leader who is in bed with the oil and gas industry would do the same thing...[Edited on September 13, 2006 at 9:56 PM. ^that seems pretty kickass. However, isn't natural gas a fossil fuel? And a need for natural gas won't help our reliance on foreign energy sources that much.(though its a step in the right direction!)
9/14/2006 12:59:37 AM
right, its a step.and it seems the amount of natural gas this would need and the efficiency at producing utilities for your house and car seems a lot better than the current use of fossil fuels for producing utilities...and then the amount needed for automobiles.I mean a 50% decrese in cost...sign me up.In the may 22 episode of fifth gear Tom drives it and talks all about the project and the island and all that jazz.[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 1:24 AM. I'm not exactly down with the home fuel system thing for one reason. Natural Gas is fucking expensive. They have not been finding natural gas in amounts that they have been finding crude, and because of this, even though its more efficient and cleaner, it costs me out the ass to heat my house.I really don't want to spend on Nat'l Gas year-round now.
