This is a proven concept, seen over and over again. From the firing of Valvano, to the anti-NCSU articles of people like Caulton Tudor, any fan that pays attention to the media knows that there has long been an anti-NCSU, pro-UNC slant in the N&O. Thats just the first of it.

there is no reason to suspend me, keep trying.there are plenty who agree with me. i dont get where all the hate is coming from.
9/12/2006 11:04:04 PM
dude, it's not that a lot of people don't agree with you, it's just that this shit has been discussed ad nauseam. That said,Lock.

no biggie.it just permeates through near about every thread.but don't let these fuck-tards bother you.
9/12/2006 11:11:04 PM
Seriously, if you really believe this exists...Let's see some concrete examples. Links to articles. Quotes from so called "anti-NCSU" writers. Our fans need to look at our programs from the outside, from a national perspective, before they act like we've been degraded, or whatever, by the national media.

Did anyone see Stuart Scott's recap of the MNF game last night? After River's short, over-the-shoulder, pass to LT, Stuart said something to the effect of "Thank God he has LT."As if it was a bad pass to begin with. I don't know about the bias, but SS sucks balls anyways.
9/12/2006 11:25:11 PM
you won't see any concrete examplesjust a metric ass ton of anecdotal evidence
9/12/2006 11:27:28 PM
^^the announcers said about the same thing during the game, but they also made the point that it was a damn fine pass....which it was.It is a good thing that he has LT though, cause he definitely carried the load last night.[Edited on September 12, 2006 at 11:29 PM. Reason : .]

I might buy into this if our teams were good but since we pretty much flat out suck dick in every sport I don't think there's really an issue here.

There will always be a large amount of bias on all sides in this area. We have 4 very large and competitive schools within decent driving distance of each other, so ppl will always pick sides. For ppl who claim there is no bias or say "prove it," get over yourself.Even mere coverage shows bias. For instance, take the poker tournament that happened semi recently. I remember there being many articles about the Duke grad when he made it to the finals. He also had articles about when he finally lost. This, of course, completely ignores the fact that an NCSU grad was also there and he made it much much further than the guy from Duke. Bias happens, just some ppl are more obvious about it than others.
