it'll take at least 3 days usually. ncsu uses a third party to handle this now. look under the for students section on the ncsu homepage. you'll turn up something

we only use a 3rd party if you order online. and either way you will need to sign something.you can just come to R&R and we will mail a transcript for you.we do not send them electronically - and neither does our 3rd party vendor.we will fax a copy but it costs more.if you need more info - e-mail me at work mailto:nicole_harrell@ncsu.edu

Geez, they went up to $10/each now? Dumb question, but why are official transcripts so expensive?

Because the university doesn't get to keep parking ticket money now.

it has nothing to do with parking money. parking ticket money was only used in the transportation department as they are a self-funded entity.the reason transcripts went up (and btw it only went up for the 1st one per order - the rest are $5) is because the university no longer charges a "TRACS" fee and in all actuality the fee hadn't been raised in a long time.

That still begs the question, "What is the actual cost in producing the transcript?" They should cover their cost, but is it right that they make money on this kind of service?

Well considering the vast majority of the time I want a transcript I only need one, this really does suck. Did the university TRACS fee used to be included in tuition and fees, and if so why would it no longer be included? If the reason is to lower our tuition and fees rates, I can't imagine it would be a substantial amount (in the grand scale of tuition/fees, less than .01%) to warrant such a change.
