9/11/2006 5:34:40 PM

I saw the Vegas one and wasn't terribly impressed. I heard the Chicago company is better though. Time to get some more free tickets.

i've seen the detroit one....nothing to write home about

I've heard nothing but good things about the show. I'd hate to miss a great show just because someone did not like a previous performance. I'm going and know it will be awesome, the UAB does a great job aquiring fun shows with their limited budget.

yeah I don't know which committee is responsible for which shitty actI do know that Carolina's UAB regularly gets bad ass people to come speak/perform/whatever, and we don't.Second City is cool though.
9/12/2006 8:31:23 PM
Carolina can get bad ass people beacuse their student fees are about 1000 where NCSU is around 5-600. Most of NCSU student fees go to computers, atheletics, arts, etc. Those fees are stuck like that until a group does a formal request which then has to be approved. One group does not get more just because SG or whom ever thinks its time for more computers or a big concert.
9/12/2006 8:39:01 PM
Amen Brother! By the way, the UAB get's 10 bucks from each student, the same as in the 70's, while Duke students pay over $50 per student, and who do they get? Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Folds, and just about any current speaker or author that they want.
9/12/2006 9:51:13 PM
No one answered my question about the specifics of this performance.Get on the ball, you slackass UAB people.
9/13/2006 10:08:36 AM
^^too bad ncsu students can still go to most of those performances anyway. i'd much rather them front the money than me.
9/13/2006 3:18:29 PM
a $40 raise per person could easily be taken out of the amt. one already blows on a meal plan.raise the fees, fine. dont sit here bitching about how hard your job is, do something to serve your constituents. uncw brings better acts than we do, and look how much larger we are. no excuses, we could be like these other schools.

Dear kafox and 00D_Day,Answer my fucking question.Signed, vinylbandit
9/13/2006 7:00:41 PM
I don't know which company it is. Sorry, the Second City website might have who is on tour at the time.
9/21/2006 4:14:17 PM
I'm pretty (90%) sure it's Chicago.[Edited on September 22, 2006 at 1:32 PM. Reason : A little late, perhaps. Tickets were almost sold out yesterday afternoon.]
9/22/2006 1:32:22 PM
I actually got to take their workshop this afternoon and yes, it is the Chicago group.
9/22/2006 3:50:09 PM
Great show tonight. we need to divert all UAB funds towards bringing in more groups like them (Chicago alone has plenty) and financing the films board. The rest can go.
9/23/2006 3:23:35 AM
^ I agree. I liked this performance better than the company I saw in Vegas.
