Alright, I'm picky, and I'm sick of the cheap crap that i've got on my bed, and want something I like that's also fairly nice.Problem is none of the designs at Linens and things or bed bath and beyond appeal at all (I'm not into this bright 70s style crap or floral). Suggestions of where else to look?

target always has pretty decent stuff on sale. i think their shabby chic stuff is really cute, but if you're not into floral, than perhaps giant cabbage roses are not for you.jc penney and hecht's/macy's both have decent selections. But hecht's/macy's has coupons in the paper all the time you can use, but you have to read it carefully, sometimes it either doesn't apply to house/home things, or else it's less of a discount (10% as opposed to 15%).eta: you might also want to try overstock.com. my mom bought a really nice white, quilted italian comforter from there and i love it.[Edited on September 11, 2006 at 12:46 PM. Kohl's, or pretty much any department store

http://www.scandiadown.comhttp://www.thewhitecompany.comhttp://www.potterybarn.comhttp://www.featherandblack.comThese are the places we just recently shopped online when decorating our new house. I was very pleased with everything we ordered. We did 4 bedrooms, and spent under $800 per room- this included everything.

the polo outlet in smithfield always has their stuff on sale; i bought a full set of twin sheets on sale for like 19 bucks; and its ralph lauren so u know its quality; but yea, all of their stuff is alot cheaper that you would ever think

depends, how much you willing to spend? what type of pattern are you looking for, or do you just want the plain white?

Target has comfy stuff

We spent $100 on a bedroom set at Garden Ridge which has worked out quite nicely (check PM for link to pics). For 400-thread count sheets, I think we spent $45 at Sams Club.Have fun hunting ... it's not easy to find a set you'll fall in love with that's reasonably affordable.

I like Jerzee's sheets; they're really soft and comfortable and come in solid colors. I bought a queen set at Target for $25 about a month ago. The quality is very good also, I had my last set for 5 years and only bought new ones because I got a bigger bed.

It was weird when my wife and I went shopping for bedding... its like everyone makes ugly as shit designs. We figured we would have no problem finding somethng classic and clean, like what you see at Restoration Hardware and the like, but its all gaudy florals, metallics, animal prints, and clashing colors. Good luck...

Yeah, I filed that idea in the same category as the "Husbands who fucked up" card category at Hallmark. I was an ass to my wife and went to get her a card and they had none. THe employees said there were 2 cards that worked but were of course sold out of both. They need a special corner of the store that is like the man'sfuck-up corner with prepackaged cards, jewelry, and flowers.

overstock.com

^Agreed. They kick ass with bedding. Got 1,200 thread count for like $70.

overstock.comsmartbargains.comslickdeals.net if you're willing to wait until you see something you like.I wouldn't venture above ~600TC, at the max. Sheets start to get stiff and heavy then. We have a set of insanely high TC sheets, and I really hate them.Right now, I alternate our sheets between a set of 500TC sheets that matt got on clearance at kohls ($50 or $60?), and some 250 or 350TC 'bamboo' (basically, rayon to all you non-textile folks; they were $15 or $20?) that I got on clearance at target. I like them; he doesn't. I'm suprised you're having a hard time finding plain sheets. Check out sears, JC Penney, Kohls, Belk, Target...those sorts of stores. Of course, catalogues are also an option.

^my guess is the issue is with the bedspreads/comforters/duvet covers. sheets are easy to find. They sold out of the design I wanted in queen, but Spiegel has some attractive, cool bedding in bold colors (not just florals!)http://www.spiegel.com

There's this place in cameron that has 600 bucker sheets, I saw them at the sidewalk SALE

i found my high thread count sheets at TJ Maxx and Home Goods, they apparently have "flaws" that i have not been able to find....its usually a good place to check

OMG... I totally agree with whomever suggested the Ralph Lauren/Polo outlet. Their stuff is definitely quality and it SOOO COMFORTABLE. Also, my roommates recently suggested to me a large linens outlet in Burlington that is supposed to have Ralph Lauren-like quality at extremely low prices.

just remember that the higher the thread count the softer, more expensive, and better the stuff is
