yep, your nv3500 does take atf. the t-case does as well. alot of late model new venture products require atf. as for the plug, you've got three options:1.) if you happen to have a dremel type tool with a small cutoff wheel, cut a slot all the way across the plug. this relieves alot of the outward pressure of the plug threads against the case threads. use a large screw driver or whatever other flat bladed type tool you can to extract it.2.) drill it out. this will require a good flushing to eliminate as many metal particles as possible, and even at that you still run the risk of a few staying in. the plus side is it's an aluminum, so drilling is easy. you can also try drilling a shallow hole (not all the way through) and using an easy out, but this rarely works in aluminum plugs.3.) personally, this is the way i would go. take the shifter trim/boot off, and access the 4 (10mm i believe) bolts holding the shifter in and remove it. drain the fluid, then dump the required amount back in the shifter hole. likely, you won't have enough room to try the first two options without dropping the trans/t-case so that's why i would go this route.[Edited on September 11, 2006 at 12:49 AM. does it have a shoulder that seals or threads? if the first the bust the shoulder off with a cold chisel and the threaded part should come right out, otherwise, you're fucked

i think ill try big blue's 3rd idea. it's nice and lazy and all the carpet and shit is removed from my interior making it pretty easy to fill that shit up from.thanks mang yeah i did my transfer case and front diff on saturday. then i pulled wrecked cars around a junkyard for a buddy with it
