maybe if they would have called the late hit in the 3rd quarter, we would have won

I know right....all of the old people in our section (26) we like damn why are they always against us. But seriously the call that cost us the most was the one on 4th down at the goal line, I could have sworn Marcus actually got that 1st down.

blame it on the rain

N 4-5 A11 Stone, M. pass complete to Eugene, J. for 11 yards to the AKRON0, 1ST DOWN NCS, TOUCHDOWN, clock 01:07.That also had something to do with it. It's called clock management, we scored too quick. And the celebration penalty put the nail in the coffin.

the celebration penalty didn't put the nail in the coffin. the fact that we couldn't hold a team for 1 minute from scoring or at least hold them to a field goal was the nail in the coffin. the fact that we went to a prevent defense when we were going up a very capable QB was where we went wrong. we should have at least kept some pressure on him.[Edited on September 9, 2006 at 8:02 PM. we didn't deserve to beat Akron today regardless of any calls by the ref... if we wanted to prove we are the better team, it shouldn't have been close... piss poor
9/9/2006 8:04:11 PM
^^^wtf did you want them to do ? get just past the 1st down line and then jump on the ground when a "game winning" TD is right in front of him?it was freaking 4th down, not the time to piddle ass around and worry about the time on the clock.you can cry clock management all you want, but any number of small things in the game would have changed that time[Edited on September 9, 2006 at 8:06 PM. I'd rather lose by us not getting into the endzone on the last play than having the refs fuck us over.
9/9/2006 8:09:00 PM
uhh...i would have thought after the whole game someone would have thought to have a qb spy play....esp since we knew they were going long and our secondary would be far away....its pretty ridiculous to let a qb run that much at the end of the game

^ haha. yeah, we would have probably gotten screwed if we had the last play of the game too.

What did you guys from tv think about the refs? imo that was the worst officiated game ever. They called nothing. We werent fouling much but michigan omg?the head but early in the game to get open for the 3?late in the game?gavin was pushed on several rebounds. there were so many fouls it reminded me of Arizona vs Illinois.I thought we dominated this game and Michigan got lucky to close in late. What do you guys think?
11/27/2006 10:14:04 PM
^Completely agree. The refs seemed to be doing everything in their power to make it close. We really should have won by 12-15.
11/27/2006 10:18:02 PM
i think there were many no-calls on both ends. refs let them play and i like that. it kept our team in rhythm when we went on our run. so what if a few calls dont go your way. i'm pretty sure that statistically, most home teams get more calls than the visitors in a game (unless UNC or Duke is on your jersey).

Wow way to bring back a thread from OVER TWO MONTHS AGO about A DIFFERENT GAME AND SPORT. But being at the game it did feel like the refs were very much against us in the last minutes, but honestly we were tired and were not playing good defense or offence during the end.[Edited on November 27, 2006 at 10:21 PM.
