This might be the first time a running back has ever had a chance to post more rushing yards than his QB does passing yards (not counting wishbone type offenses)We could be witnessing history!!!Andre Brown is in the lead 125-36 as of right now.
9/8/2006 3:49:53 PM
i dont think that's a record that i'd want to see
9/8/2006 3:50:58 PM
yeah. AB > MS
9/8/2006 3:51:12 PM
wow, let's make another thread about marcus stone sucking
9/8/2006 3:52:33 PM
AB>>>>>>>>>>MS
9/8/2006 3:52:55 PM
lawlerz
9/8/2006 3:53:01 PM
this is helpful....
9/8/2006 3:54:47 PM
the funny thing is if stone has a good game this week, all the current haters will be fighting for space on the band wagon. I could care less about stats if we're winning, and as of now, Stone is what....6-1 as a starter.
9/8/2006 3:58:32 PM
against a strong ass schedule
9/8/2006 4:00:38 PM
as of right now Stone is 6-1 as a starter. But as of the end of this season he will be 10-7 as a starter.See how that works?
9/8/2006 4:01:43 PM
^^I'll take that as sarcasm.....you can only play the games you're scheduled to play.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:02 PM. Reason : ^^]
9/8/2006 4:02:11 PM
^^then it will be acceptable to bitch.
9/8/2006 4:03:07 PM
stfu, we'll do what we want[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:04 PM. Reason : its a free country, get with it or get out]
9/8/2006 4:03:38 PM
i know its hard not to bitch when you can never be satisfied.
9/8/2006 4:07:09 PM
6-1 as a starter...that is the most worthless stat that has ever been invented, and yet people point to it as if it proves how good he is.Stone has nothing to do with any of those wins.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:08 PM. Reason : ...]
9/8/2006 4:08:09 PM
we are 1-0if anybody is bitching now you will never be satisfied
9/8/2006 4:08:25 PM
9/8/2006 4:11:21 PM
9/8/2006 4:12:19 PM
9/8/2006 4:12:28 PM
yeah the stat is pretty useless when trying to point out that stone is the man, as you seem to be. his six wins also coincided with Andre Brown starting to play and the defense stepping it up
9/8/2006 4:13:34 PM
how many passing yards did the Ravens team that WON THE SUPERBOWL have that seasonoh yeah, HOW MANY SUPERBOWLS DID DAN MARINO WIN
9/8/2006 4:14:30 PM
Sure the wins matter. But the wins will stop if we have a one dimensional offense and opposing teams start putting 8 men in the box every down because they know our QB has a lack of solid matter between his ears.
9/8/2006 4:14:44 PM
no one is saying he is a great qb (at least i'm not), but its all about wins.
9/8/2006 4:14:57 PM
if you really think we're going to continue to win games with 36 passing yards a game, you're delusional.
9/8/2006 4:15:42 PM
so you are telling us that trent dilfer is better than dan marino?
9/8/2006 4:15:46 PM
did you guys not watch any nc state football last year? he did actually throw a few touchdown passes^absolutely not...but i am saying that you dont have to have 400 passing yards a game to win football games]
9/8/2006 4:15:49 PM
I don't care about the yardage specifically, as long as there's enough passing to open up the run game.Right now there's not.
9/8/2006 4:17:37 PM
hey UNC's quarterback threw for a lot of yards on Saturdayoh wait they are 0-1 and we are 1-0^right now during the first game]
9/8/2006 4:18:16 PM
so what ever happened to that jay davis guy?
9/8/2006 4:18:47 PM
9/8/2006 4:22:05 PM
Stop hijacking my thread with all this "Stone doesn't suck THAT bad" talklook... we all know he actually does suck THAT bad but this isnt the place to discuss itThis thread is just to draw attention to potential history in the making.Think about all the great races over the years in sportsMaris vs. MantleBird vs MagicMcGwire vs. SosaBrown vs. Stone
9/8/2006 4:24:01 PM
^^name on the front of the jersey, amen^what are the odds of Brown AND Baker rushing for more than Stone passes for?]
9/8/2006 4:24:05 PM
So, assuming a bowl game, Brown is on pace for over 1600 rushing yards. if he gets that, plus whatever Baker throws in, we won't be in that bad of a spot. b/c with that much rushing, we'll dominate TOP.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:28 PM. Reason : .]
9/8/2006 4:28:08 PM
I cant even figure out the odds of that....I was never good with binomial distributions....^dude, we are not gonna dominate TOP. We couldnt even move the ball against App State.Andre Brown is going to put up a lot of yards because he breaks LONG runs... like turns 7 yard gains into 45 yard TD's because he's the son of Zeus. But we are not going to be moving the chains consistently because we won't run well up the middle and Stone is absolutely incapable of converting a third down by using the "forward pass".[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:30 PM. Reason : a]
9/8/2006 4:28:37 PM
9/8/2006 4:34:25 PM
9/8/2006 4:34:29 PM
These arguments are like saying that miami and fsu aren't going to gain 100 yards rushing the whole year b/c there was only 3 rushing yards in their first game. its ludicrous.
9/8/2006 4:35:22 PM
9/8/2006 4:36:24 PM
9/8/2006 4:40:56 PM
9/8/2006 4:41:36 PM
That was sarcastic to prove a point.....b/c stone only threw for 36 yards the first game he is sure not to do any better. [Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:43 PM. Reason : rolly eyes to make sure you don't misunderstand]
9/8/2006 4:42:34 PM
^^and you could also say its the first game of the year, stone needs to get into a rhythm and he can only improve
9/8/2006 4:43:48 PM
9/8/2006 4:44:04 PM
On top of that, even -- Wikipedia says there are 119 Division IA football programs out there. This is ESPN's list of Top Yardage Passers ( http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/sortables?stat=pass&sort=passyds&season=2&year=2006&group=80 ) it has 117 names on it.GUESS WHO IS MISSING!
9/8/2006 4:45:05 PM
9/8/2006 4:45:58 PM
oh well.......we might as well forfeit the rest of the games.
9/8/2006 4:46:03 PM
It's fun to have a good running back to watch, is it too much to ask for a good passing game to compliment?
9/8/2006 4:47:05 PM
^^so your logic only applies when it helps your cause?[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:47 PM. Reason : fhds]
9/8/2006 4:47:21 PM
^^its nc state, lets take what we can get
9/8/2006 4:48:02 PM
