I ordered a thinkpad from the bookstore about three weeks ago. was wondering when anyone else on here ordered one, how long did it take before they told you it was ready for pick up?

yeah they take between 2-4 weeks to come in. Apple computers used to come in in 2-4 buisness days, but they've been fucking over their education resellers and delaying shipments to them massively. The Thinkpads are assembled to order and actually take 2-4 weeks to be made, shipped, and reach the bookstore.

There's nothing wrong with giving them a call and asking if it's in there yet.

^^I'm not asking if anyone here knows if my order is in. I was just asking for a general average time it took.

^yea, that's what I was figuring.

Yeah, if a computer's brought up when there's too few employees and too many customers, they usually don't get a chance to contact people till the next day. It helps to provide LOCAL phone number and correct email adress. The bookstore policy requires employees to log long distance calls and only make them on a special phobe. It's stupid and makes it a whole huge hassal to call someone if they don't get a local number.

That's another thing, if you're going to be here 9 months out of the year... consider getting a local number.
