http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-footbl/acc-m-footbl-sched.htmlGoing by the ACC.com tv schedule, it appears ESPN-U has elected to carry the Furman @ UNC game over NCSU @ Southern Miss. Both are 7PM games, and ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, CBS all have conflicts. Any word on if FSN or other carriers will televise the game?

the collective media just loves to suck UNC off at every opportunitynever mind the fact that we went to a bowl last year and they didntnot to mention they got shut out by Rutgers last week
9/8/2006 9:55:35 AM
im not normally one to say stuff like this butdidnt Carolina score 16 points?
9/8/2006 9:56:41 AM
So much for the benefits of being a part of a good football conference when ECU is on TV more than State.
9/8/2006 10:08:51 AM
this is because UNC looked alot better than we did last week.
9/8/2006 10:10:43 AM
the tv line-up crap is already getting oldat least show a team that won their first game of the season, if for no other reason at all^ UNC lost.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 10:11 AM. Reason : ]

Already started over at Pack Pride.at this address askespntv@espn.com. As of right now they do not have the USM-NCSU game on game plan and they plan on showing the Furman-UNC game on ESPN U. I know there is no chance they will pull the UNC game but we do have a shot to get on the game plan. If we can flood them with emails telling them that in this area gameplan day subscriptions (21.95) would sky rocket if they picked up the game then I am sure it would go a log way to help getting the game picked up.GO PACK

maybe itll be on PackPass and we can all watch it on our computers!
9/8/2006 10:53:59 AM
unc was driving for a win when Daily threw the INTwe almost let AppState back in the game making mistakes
9/8/2006 11:02:42 AM
^ ok based on that postwe made mistakes and still recoveredthey made mistakes and lostso you cant say that they looked better
9/8/2006 11:14:50 AM
We didnt almost let app state back into the game by making mistakes. App. State was only in the game because of mistakes, and once we had a big enough lead, they never threatened.

9/8/2006 11:27:37 AM
why would they elect to show a crappy 1A school vs. a 1-AA school than two crappy 1A schools playing. makes no sense.
9/8/2006 12:12:38 PM
9/8/2006 12:16:59 PM
let's be real here, neither of those games are anything to get excited about
9/8/2006 12:19:07 PM
that last time unc played furman, furman woni was thereit was awesome
9/8/2006 12:52:20 PM
I didn't see either game so I can't make judgments based on who played better but Rutgers was a bowl team last year in a 1-A BCS conference and has a TON of talent and will DEFINITELY be a bowl team this year..[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 12:54 PM. Reason : x]
9/8/2006 12:54:05 PM
why would I want us to still be telivised on a channel I can't even get, go ahead and drop us from the U and at least then we'll have a slim shot at getting picked up by something where I can actually watch the game from campus cable
9/8/2006 12:56:26 PM
DO NOT email ESPN about the Gameplan coverage. THe game has to have some sort of regional coverage (like JPSports) broadcasting the game that they can distribute the feed for. ESPN does not send a crew for Gameplan coverage. Since there is no one televising the NCSU/SMU game there is no signal for ESPN to re-distrbute through Gameplan. Stop making our fanbase look like retards.

^^^Do you really not know how to see a game that is on ESPN-U yet? You might not want to have to go to a sports bar to see the game(or find a friend with satellite), but it's a hell of alot closer than Hattiesburg, MS.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 1:07 PM. Reason : .]

...and still basically dominated the game.

That 1AA opponent is rated higher than Duke and many other 1A teams.
9/8/2006 2:50:11 PM
"rated higher" than Rutgers?

JP no longer exists. It was bought by Lincoln Financial. All JP games are now LF games. Get it right!
9/8/2006 2:58:24 PM
Gopack.com still says the game time is TBA, so maybe FSN South still might pick it up. It's pretty much the only chance of the game being on TV since ESPN is already set with their schedule.
9/8/2006 3:02:15 PM
anyone know their emaill address for FSS? start emailing them asking them to pick the game up.
9/8/2006 3:06:29 PM
9/8/2006 3:08:00 PM
Game time is 7 PM, per ACC website. I guess that could potentially be changed if FSN picked it up last minute. FSN South listings currently show
9/8/2006 3:15:43 PM
I wish "you people" would learn what networks have contracts with the ACC and what other leagues have contracts with which other networks. CBS only does SEC games, FSN only does Big XII and Pac-10 games. "But I saw so and so on..." NO...check the home team, or check the gamesite. The above applies. The ACCs contract is with ESPN/ABC and LF Sports. Of course, this is considered a C-USA game, and the rights holder is CSTV. They chose instead to carry the exciting matchups of South Florida at Central Florida and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Alabama State. As for Gameplan, pretty much every game is already broadcast by someone...LF, ABC regional, etc. There are two exceptions this week, Central Florida at Florida and Troy at Florida State. Im fairly certain the national recognition and history of these two programs, as well as both schools probably having something to do with each broadcast, is the reason these are available. As for Pack Pass, this is an away game, so Im almost certain all you will get there is the same radio broadcast available free over the air.
9/8/2006 3:22:40 PM
There is a difference between broadcast rights and contracts as you understand them. FSN can and has picked up games that the right holders have passed on, as have local carriers. All the ABC/ESPN and LF contracts mean is they have "dibs".
9/8/2006 3:34:49 PM
9/8/2006 3:46:48 PM
maybe u all can man up and drive to southern miss like i am
9/8/2006 3:50:58 PM
^^^Can you remember the last football game broadcast on FSN where the home team was ACC? Or any network other than the contract holders? The 2002 New Mexico at NC State game doesnt count, the BCA controlled rights to that game and sold them to FSN.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 4:03 PM. Reason : -]
9/8/2006 3:51:18 PM
so NCSU isn't getting on TV until the BC game
9/8/2006 6:34:08 PM
Nah, the Akron game is on ESPN-U
9/8/2006 7:33:28 PM

^Ok, again, this is a Conference USA game as far as TV rights go, so Lee Fowler, NC State, the ACC, Chuck Amato, Philip Rivers, whoever, do not have any say on where it ends up.Second, how many games has WRAL broadcast itself? They did some Hurricanes games on FOX50 a few years ago (with the help of FSN South), and of course the Boy Scout troop does the Durham Bulls games, but thats it. You really think they are going to send a crew down to Hattiesburg for this game? Why does everyone think WRAL is just sitting there waiting for their chance to save the day?
9/8/2006 8:22:03 PM
9/8/2006 8:46:53 PM
haven't read the entire thread, but I see where it's going, and I just want to reiterate that,
9/8/2006 8:53:41 PM
^^WITN has a TV crew to do all of the ECU games...they have all the equipment, staff, etc....theyve pretty much planned to broadcast every ECU game since the schedule was released. WRAL doesnt broadcast live sporting events on a regular basis...throwing all of this shit together at the last minute is pretty much impossible. Its two totally different situations. As far as the State-UNC game they offered to broadcast, if they had done so, do you think it would have been much more than it was? (jumbotron with some announcers). Both UNC and State have the equipment and the crew that a local station could piggyback on, yet how often have ANY of the local stations done so? Plus, the State-UNC game would have been a ratings grabber...its the biggest game in the state...which is why all of the locals were trying to do something about it. But State-Southern Miss? Only the diehards would care, most everyone else could give a shit.
