Anyone else have an LG C1500 cell phone? Tell me if these "features" sound stupid:1) When making a 911 call the cell phone (regardless of being set on vibrate or silet) will make a very loud siren sound when dialing. I don't know about you, but I can imagine a few times you might want to make a discrete 911 call. How about calling 911 right after a drunk driver runs you off the road, while you've got adrenaline pumping, and being suprised when your phone suddenly vibrates violently and makes a loud unexpected sire sound? 2) Error sounds (again regardless of set volume) will sometimes play at near-speakerphone volumes through the ear piece, nearly deafening a user trying to make a call. This happened to me about 20 minutes ago and I still can't hear out of my left ear. Oh yeah, the 911 siren? Yeah that also plays up to 3 or 4 seconds after you hit the dial button, depending on your signal strength. That means that the first time you dial 911 on the phone, you'll probably also go nearly deaf.Fuck you LG./rant[Edited on September 5, 2006 at 5:25 PM. Reason : ]

i got an LG VX7000 from verizon wireless about 2 yrs ago. the phone itself is ok, but it lacks a speakerphone. i wish i'd noticed that before i bought it. at least the decent quality verizon service i've had made up for the crappy phone.

From http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=announcements&message.id=250[/quote]"LG non-UMTS products emit a siren for 2 seconds upon dialing 911. This was implemented in 2004 and has been present on the last 12 models of LG phones. This alarm provides audible confirmation to the visually impaired who may be trying to make a 911 call. Implementation was based on a recommendation of the FCC but is optional. The call will connect to the local 911 office if the customer will hold on for a couple of seconds until the siren sound ends."[Edited on September 6, 2006 at 1:17 AM. Reason : ]

I have an 8100 and fucking love it. I have never noticed this alarm thing, but I tried it on a LG 4500 and my 8100 and it did it.Error Sounds don't really bother me as they aren't real loud on my Bluetooth headset.

I'm not sure I'd consider repeated breaks on a phone an "opinion" but whatever. My motorola and my parents have all crapped out. Bad sound quality or not enough volume, dropping calls, having to replace phones several times, spontaneously turning off, dying rapidly, etc.

The 911 thing is only certain LG models (non-UMTS?)
