welcome to forever ago
9/4/2006 11:18:21 PM
reguardless this rule is going to take away from alot of fantastic finishes.
9/4/2006 11:23:17 PM
its a fair rule, they should really add the 2 minute warning though
9/4/2006 11:25:43 PM
9/4/2006 11:35:52 PM
ibtl
9/5/2006 12:54:33 AM
^^^agreed
9/5/2006 8:34:58 AM
^^^As would fewer TV and radio time outs, but hey, let's reduce the actual game time.[Edited on September 5, 2006 at 9:15 AM. Reason : -]
9/5/2006 9:15:15 AM
AWFUL AWFUL AWFULi hate this fucking shit already
9/5/2006 10:12:28 AM
I agree, its a fucking bitch, and its annoying as hell.
9/5/2006 12:03:00 PM
yeah, the game seems to go by way too fast.
9/5/2006 12:04:33 PM
the game already feels longer because all we do is run the balland only 5% of the time does that cause something exciting to happen
9/5/2006 5:51:21 PM
^should make it feel shorter...running keeps the clock going...
9/5/2006 5:54:19 PM
being bored makes it feel longerbecause i know we're not going to get ten yardsand then the defense is up
9/5/2006 5:58:14 PM
yeah, run, run, run, punt...run, run, run, punt does make the game seem like it's going forever.
9/5/2006 6:00:06 PM
This rule will not make a big deal. Not that much. If anything I feel the game of college fb becoming more like nfl with regards to officiating.
9/5/2006 6:01:50 PM
this rule makes an ENORMOUS dealyou saw last night immediately one of the biggest effects. You get the ball back late in the game and you essentially have one less timeout since the clock starts on change of possessionyeah, i tend to bitch about things, but i cant think of one positive of this new rule. its fucking horrible in every aspect
9/5/2006 8:05:27 PM
less 4 hour games
9/5/2006 8:10:11 PM
the only negative i see is that the game isnt that much shorter due to the amount of tv timeouts. We are getting the same amount of TV, just more commercials
9/5/2006 8:55:30 PM
but i want more 4 hour games
9/5/2006 9:30:08 PM
^^Commander of the Obvious!!!!!
9/5/2006 11:51:34 PM
^^ espn classic?
9/6/2006 2:50:10 AM
^x4Yeah, it would seem that the real goal of the new rule was to create more time for advertising revenue.
9/6/2006 9:09:18 AM
fucking shit
9/16/2006 6:46:56 PM
okay
9/16/2006 6:47:44 PM
This new clock thing is just FUCKING RETARDED. The person(s) who came up with this should be fucking fired.
9/16/2006 6:48:27 PM
And tonight illustrates the worst thing of this rule, and it doesn't even affect the outcome of the game. ND won tonight without having to snap the ball, the game ended on a change of possesion. It just feels "wrong", there should be a snap to end the game. Sure there was no change in how the game would have ended up but it just feels better
9/24/2006 12:04:34 AM
I can't wait to see the first coach to take a lead and false start for the entire remainder of the game, he'd make my hero list.
9/24/2006 12:09:35 AM
conviniently the rules don't allow that
9/24/2006 12:11:19 AM
explain?
9/24/2006 12:33:44 AM
the heck they don't allow that. there's nothing the refs could do to stop it, either.
9/24/2006 12:35:44 AM
clock stops after first down and starts when ball is spotted = fine, ok, whateverclock starts after change of possession = stupid
9/24/2006 12:36:59 AM
9/24/2006 1:11:41 AM
9/24/2006 1:26:41 AM
its like seeing basketball games with no clock rule wind up 5-2
9/24/2006 1:27:15 AM
they need to start stopping the clock after every play until the ball is marked ready for play no matter what. run...stop the clock..spot the ball....start the clock.im sick and tired of seeing hold wrs down after a play, unpile slow off the line and do little shit to wasted extra seconds. that shouldnt be part of the game.
10/14/2006 11:22:20 PM
repeated: games would be like 6 hours
10/14/2006 11:23:27 PM
reapeaed- well jsut do it in the 4th quarter or last 2 minutes at least. something has to be done about this.
10/14/2006 11:24:14 PM
I thought it was funny how the clock would continue to run, even after Wake Forest had a delay of game penalty. So they could have theoretically taken five delay of game penalties in a row and ran the clock that way without any apparent penalty. But yeah, something needs to be done about it.
10/14/2006 11:31:52 PM
^ read ^x7
10/14/2006 11:33:33 PM
I stand corrected. Still hate the new clock rule, nonetheless.
10/14/2006 11:35:33 PM
PWNT
10/21/2006 3:09:23 PM
i also think time should go back if a penalty refutes the play
