to find out what a "group" on the degree audit requires? Example... im having issues at the moment because i switched advisors and my old one told me that ENG 246 (Lit of the Holocaust) would count towards the Group 503 Literature requirement, even though it wasnt one listed and now..well, thats being debated. So Im trying to find out what all a Group 503 class has that makes it count...because I dont see why literature of the holocaust wouldnt count while survey of african lit would..... thanks

If you go into TRACS to your degree audit you should be able to see a list of the classes in each group. I am sure there are other ways as well, but that's what I have always done.

i know how to see what the classes are, but i guess what im trying to find out is what makes those classes in that category, like why do they fulfill the literature requirement specificly?

Oh. To find that, I would guess you'd have to talk to the dean or something. I'm pretty sure you can't just find it online somewhere.

There are most likely academic committees for each department, each college and the university as a whole which decide such things. Talk to your advisor and see if you can't get the class which you think should be a lit class manually put in that slot.[Edited on August 31, 2006 at 11:37 PM. If your advisor says it count then I would go ahead and take it. The same thing happened to me and she just manually went in the system and moved the class so it would count for me.
