The first time I heard them I was getting a tattoo at Ace in Charlotte and the guy says "Do you care if I put on some music? What do you want to hear?" and I was like "Guy, you're drawing on my chest in permanent ink I think maybe you should choose" and then he put on 1000 Hurts

I've never understood the appeal of Shellac. They sound like a tub of metallic shit...songwriting is pretty god awful and they sound like a slowed down metallic-ass Big Black. I suppose that's not suprising...but Albini is a dickface. I guess thats what you get when you put a bunch of producers in a band. Egoplastic.I saw them once a loooong time ago in Carrboro at an elementary school auditorium! (no joke)...I can't remember why they were playing there but they were, with some other local bands.I do like Bob Weston though, he's done some great work with Archers of Loaf and other pretty awesome records.

good show.opening band's singer was sick so they ended up just playing without her. Sounded like abunch of old dudes who found some shellac records and an aluminum guitar.Shellac was awesome, the sound was great but I was right next to the strage so the vocals were alittle hard to hear because the PAs were behind me. Played for alittle longer than an hour I think and covered most of their great songs. No Prayer for God tho. They also played some new songs.
