Like the whole thing broke off right past the silencer or whatever its called (i dont know jack about cars). What could have caused this/what does it mean? It almost looks like it rusted off, I have a 95 honda civic, its not in too bad of condition.

the resonatorwhat kind of cut is it - i take it that it's not a clean cut?have you run over anything recently?

No its not a very clean cut, I don't think I've run over anything, recently I did move into a new house where the street coming up to it has like 5 annoying speedbumps... theres been nights i've hit those sorta hard (they are the relatively flat kind though, nothing bad).

Okay I just talked to the mechanic, gonna be like 350$ to get the whole thing fixed... ugh. Also they said I needed several flushes, each was like 89-130$... how required for my car are those?

the weld around the resonator came apart. they do that about now. you probably didn't notice that your car was getting louder until it fell off.you can get a replacement from rockauto.com and have someone on here replace it for you.
