I'm looking to buy an air compressor and a finishing nailer. The air compressors look to be almost as good as some you can get at lowes/HD. But shit, the finishing nailers are $20. I know I'll probably get what I pay for but has anyone ever used a Harbor Freight (Central Pneumatic) nail gun?

I was told that they are very inconsistant. Hell for $20 try it out on some scrap and make you own conclusion.

their 3+hp compressors are pretty damn nice, i almost got a 6.5hp for the shop on sale for 349 a while back.I would not however get a finishing nailer from HF. We have a couple in the CoD Wood Shop and they fucking SUCK. Jam all the time, misfire, and break constantly. Get a real finish nailer, its worth the $$.Most everything else I've used from there has worked damn well though

yeah it all depends on what tools you are getting. I rock the cheap tools for a lot of things, but some stuff I have is more expensive craftsman stuff (soldering gun, tap & die set)

I went with the $197 Bostitch pancake compressor& 5/8"-2" finishing nailer combo from lowes.Maybe the spray guns and impact wrench will come from HF next.

HF does offer an extened warranty (I would recommend it if you plan on actually using the tool) Have bought air snips and stud welding gun in the past two weeks they both lasted less than 24 hours...

you might as well buy scrap metal at a junkyard and try to use it, after the first use thats all the tools you get there are worth if they work even once. if you are stupid enough to go to that shithole store and use the tools from there then save your reciepts and have a good life insurance policy. i would recommend dropping the money for something better at sears

SEARS JACKS SUCK...other wise craftsman is ok.
