http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/ncaa/specials/preview/2006/08/16/cf.guide0821/index.htmlWe're ranked #67 with one ACC school below us (Duke)I think this might not be a bad thing.[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 3:05 PM. Reason : .]

We're supposed to be worse than Wake and UNC? Have they looked at our schedule? I am not saying we deserve any hype, but we should definitely be the best team in the state assuming we can actually beat Wake and UNC this year.[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 3:08 PM. Reason : s]
8/16/2006 3:08:16 PM
yea man, #67...we're flying under the radararticles like these mean nothing, lets just get the season started. I saw on ESPN they had a "predicted week 3 top 10". ridiculous.[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 3:09 PM. Reason : .]
8/16/2006 3:08:40 PM
way under
8/16/2006 3:08:58 PM
67 isn't under the radar, it's off the radarbut no way wake forest finishes ahead of usand carolina at 48 is laughable
8/16/2006 3:09:09 PM
I dont know. I could easily see UNC being better than us this year...we realyl dont have an offense or a defense... thats bad
8/16/2006 3:13:57 PM
8/16/2006 3:14:04 PM
8/16/2006 3:15:39 PM
obviously we will either kick ass this year or suck terribly. If everyone plays to their potential, i dont see why we couldnt be a top 25 team. Jusst look at our backfield and really our defense isn't that shabby. Its all about everyone playing up to their potential. hell if the defense doesnt play well lets just hope this offense can carry us a long way.
8/16/2006 3:18:43 PM
yeah we're loaded at RB and we have some inexperienced but talented WR's... but our OL is a question mark and our QB makes Kerry Collins look like a philosopher.
8/16/2006 3:20:22 PM
ha ha ^ good oneI do think we'll have a better record than UNC, but mainly because we have a softer schedule than UNC
8/16/2006 3:24:48 PM
i know that it was a scrimmage and agaisnt the no.2 defense, but the backfield, but up about 300 yards in few few carrries. that's got to be a good sign. It did say that the qb, didnt really impress anyone, so thats the downside to that.
8/16/2006 3:24:56 PM
according to these rankings the ONLY team we SHOULD beat is App State, we are ranked lower than all the rest of our opponents this season...therefore we should expect to only win 1 game..1-11 here we come
8/16/2006 3:27:09 PM
hahahahhahahaha
8/16/2006 3:28:06 PM
hopefully Chuck can use this as motivation for the team

lol, I didn't want to make it TOO obvious
8/16/2006 4:12:19 PM
67TH LOOKS ABOUT RIGHT...CONSIDERING WE SUCKED LAST YEAR AND LOST THE MAJORITY OF OUR DEFENSE WHICH WAS THE ONLY THING WE HAD GOING FOR US......MARK MY WORDS...AS LONG AS MARCUS STONE IS TAKING SNAPS WE WILL BE LUCKY TO WIN 6 GAMES.....JUST SHOWS HOW MUCH BETTER OF A COACH RICH RODRIGUEZ IS THAN CHUCK...[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 4:20 PM. 8-4 season, 7-5 at worstand we'll go to a bowl[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 4:28 PM. Reason : bowl]
8/16/2006 4:28:35 PM
I think 3-5 in the ACC is pretty realistic.... you gotta expect us to pull off 1-2 upsetsI agree that nearly all the teams in the ACC are better than us, but we're gonna have one of those games where we dont even play that well but Andre Brown notches two 40+ yard TD runs, Blackman returns a kickoff or punt for a TD, Stone completes a bomb to one of our speedy wideouts, and Deraney notches a 48 yarder..... thats 31 points right there on a day where we might not even have 300 yards total offense....[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 4:37 PM. 8/16/2006 4:33:06 PM
^ if we could play every game "not that well" and still score 31 points i'd shit a brick
8/16/2006 4:40:33 PM
5-3, 4-4 at worst in ACCbut if things went really wrong, 3-5 would be realistic
8/16/2006 4:42:09 PM
5-3 in the ACC and 4-4 at worst????You do know that Chuck has had ONE count em ONE winning ACC season in 2003 at 5-3 and still finished 4th.This is going to be our worst year in a while, but the schedule will help. Looks like BOAST BOAST BOAST to me.
8/16/2006 4:43:32 PM
^^^ Im referring to the fact that with the way our team is geared we can have a day where our offense struggles and we still put up a lot of points becasue we have two of the most dynamic players in the ACC (Brown and Blackman). We're going to be just like last year relying on big plays rather than sustained drives to score points. The main difference is that last year we had a chance to win if we only scored 14 points. This year if we only score 14 points and dont consistently move the ball we will get our ass handed to us.3-5 is the most realistic guess. 4-4 is very doable. 5-3 would be a near miracle. 2-6 would be poor. 1-7 is the worst case scenario, not likely.[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 4:46 PM. BOAST BOAST BOASTBLAME BLAME BLAMEi actually haven't heard the usual amount of either this year. we should really pick up the slack.
8/16/2006 4:46:26 PM
this year, there is no hype, unlike ANY season I've been at NCSU(and I'm a fifth year senior )......i'm not saying i am right, but no one is expecting shit this season, actually all i have heard is how bad we'll suck….IMO, I just think that this year, we have a lot of “unknown” players (i.e. receivers) that are extremely talented and hopefully chuck will have the team more disciplined this year….people like pressley will need to step up, and willie young will have a good year on D to hold our shit together.…..brooks is back and will help a lot, and tank is solid…..pat lowery will be a solid leader on D as well….if AJ gets of his ass and learns to quit being burned, he can also become a leader….its no doubt B&B will be good, and blackman is going to have a good year at WR….if our OL can hold their own, and if stone has improved this offseason, I don’t see why not this predictions can’t be realistic….i’m just trying to be optimistic, but I really think we are going to be better than what people think….its not going to take much to be better than 67th, but I see us as a top 25 team by the end of the year, and it doesn’t hurt that our schedule is easy as paris hiltonand if we lose to unc, fire chuck[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 4:59 PM. Reason : unc]
8/16/2006 4:58:06 PM
i really dont think our offense or defense is going to be as bad as everyone thinksi bet we surprise a few this year
8/16/2006 4:58:38 PM
8/16/2006 5:00:30 PM
everyone remember this name...Jamelle Eugene.
8/16/2006 5:04:00 PM
8/16/2006 5:04:52 PM
yeah he's our THIRD STRING RB, and could easily be a starter at a D-1 school....damn i wish we were as deep at QB, or even OL
8/16/2006 5:05:22 PM
Harrison Beck cant play for a year, right?
8/16/2006 5:06:34 PM
right
8/16/2006 5:07:09 PM
yep, and i see what u did there tree
8/16/2006 5:07:13 PM
8/16/2006 5:09:35 PM
well Stone will have to handle his own weight this year then, but I really dont think he is going to be as shitty as everyone cries about50% of NC State fans make me sick, some of you people need to run head first into oncoming traffic

oh whoops[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 5:16 PM. Reason : nm]
8/16/2006 5:15:24 PM
no, but im suggesting our defense was leaps and bounds better than its gonna be this year.Stone was asked not to lose the game last year. This year he'll be asked to do quite a bit more.I don't think he's capable of doing that as nothing ive ever seen out of the guy would suggest that he is.
8/16/2006 5:15:31 PM
i think this year he'll be asked to make good, solid handoffs to brown and baker
8/16/2006 5:16:01 PM
i think that rallydurham is commonly negative about nc state football year in and year out
8/16/2006 5:16:53 PM
or just realistic5-3 would be a near miracle.how can you argue that?
8/16/2006 5:18:25 PM
8/16/2006 5:19:23 PM
im not arguing about our record, i am just referring to the lack of faith in a QB that realistically has never been our STARTING QB because people extended faith in a QB that was horrifying beyond all reasonable doubt.[Edited on August 16, 2006 at 5:22 PM. before u get too fired up about it, we do have 6 returning starting defenders off a top defensive unit.you dont think the new 5 will step in having learned something? come on now, offense will be the bigger question mark
