i bought my little brother a bike for graduation (to bring here to state as he starts next semester)...i put it together (as i've done before with other bikes), but it's been a long time since i've done this and i was hoping someone could tune it up and make sure that i put everything together correctly...dick's sporting goods will do it for $25, so i was hoping someone wouldn't mind doing it for $10 or so...it shouldn't take that long (15-20 minutes)...i can, of course, bring it to you

i don't know if you were referring to me or not, but i don't fix them...i can probably put them together with the same competence as a wal-mart employee...they're rideable, but i would prefer to get someone more skilled to tweak it

I worked at Two Wheeler Dealer in Wilmington for 2 years, worked on bikes from beach cruisers to 2.5k crotch killers. I'll do it, but I won't be in town till Sunday and probably won't be able to have it done till Monday. If you're still interested, give me a call. (910) 233-4798. Price depends on how long it takes (It'll be reasonable), I'll even teach you how to do it if you wish.

Be sure to buy your little brother AND YOURSELF a better bike lock!

Have your ridden the bike? That usually tells you if everything is good to go or not. If you need help on a specific part of it, just ask.

Get it done at Dick's. There's only one guy that does it and he knows what he's doing. He saved me from buying a wheel because it was a loose baring. It's worth the $25.

If you look on http://www.1304bikes.org , there is a place at the end of Chamberlain where every Sunday afternoon they fix up bikes for FREE.I took my bike there, and while they didn't fix it, they told me what to do to fix it (and it worked).

If you can get a 'tune up' for $25, that's more than worth it. I don't usually work on people's bikes (mine/friends' are the exception), but I would imagine you'd have a tough time getting anything beyond adjustinga couple of cables for less than that.Ahmet

The shop on Sundays sounds like a club event (usually helpful from a do-it-at-home standpoint), but I am skeptical about information from Dick's. Their employees have not gone through the same rigor of experience, customer service, or contacts that a decent private shop's technician has. I have raced triathlons and ridden MANY trails. Bring the bike, let me take a look, and basic work will be my treat (tires and tubes). I would like to get a decent rep to have a little income this semester.
