why put it in the recruiting thread?

this is more important than all of the 2007 basketball recruiting going on.

Nice to know.

But he will probably end up at Florida.

It will come down to State and Florida, but Florida already has a lot of 6-8 post players on the team and coming in this year.

wants to step outside? does he realize that Herb isnt here anymore??

You can be a great center at 6'8".

See: Ben Wallace.

yeah i mean 6'8" is tall, but it'd be nice to have that extra couple of inches, especially when facing a dominant post player greater than 7'.

except Ben Wallace is 6'9" 240 lbs and is clearly the exception

now you can be a great college center at 6'8"

but hell if Hickson was 7'0" he would either:

- not come to State

OR

- transfer/go pro after 1 year

and how many college kids are taller than 7' that can actually ball.

well theres a bunch that are taller than 6'8"

but if the kid is good defensively and stout I'm fine with him being around 6'8"

Wingspan has a lot to do with it.

well Cedric was 6'9" and had a 7'4" wingspan

i doubt this kid's wingspan is like that

i just wish we had Ced or a taller player for center and could use this guy at PF, his natural position

right. i think you need both to be a great player. Same reason I wouldn't call Allan Houston a great player

it was sarcasm, I don't think you need to be great on both sides of the ball to be considered great.

I obviously think LeBron is a great player, even though his defense isn't that great.

I also think Ben Wallace is a great player, even though his offense is limited.

Elton Brand is 6'-8" and he's at least a very good, if not great, center.

^ Yep, that's right, haven't you heard

NC State Wolfpack of the Eastern Conference

1st year expansion team

2005-2006 record: (1-85) (.012)

Beat the Golden State Warriors in 3OT with a 3-pointer at the buzzer

obviously, the four extra games were from making the playoffs in a weak eastern conference, and getting swept in the first round.

Did Marcus Melvin hit the 3 like at Houston a few years back or is he in jail now?

according to ^^ there are only two players even considering going to an acc school above jj hickson and no one has committed to an acc school with a higher rating. not that it really means a WHOLE lot.

What it mainly means is that Duke, UNC, GT and Wake loaded up on players from the previous class...
