someone just called me and said they have a dell laptop and their pcmcia slot or whatever is a non-standard size. and supposedly its not something proprietary. just the wrong size and not supported by dell (wtf right)dont have much experience with laptops, is this something anyone has heard of? i assumed all those slots were the same till i heard this. just looking for a NIC that will fit this slot. thx[Edited on August 14, 2006 at 9:58 PM. hahhaha hell it could be... im just gonna pick it up tomorrow and i'll check it out myself. but supposedly she has taken it all over the place and tried to find a NIC for it, and hasnt been able to find one yetso youd think that if it was something silly like that, someone would have said so by now

dell is using a new card called .... "something" its a L shaped card so the regular ones aint gonna fityou probalby wont find them in stores,

they are called express card 54. hp and dell are using them on their low-end notebooks. you can buy adapters to use standard pc card devices. here is a express card usb adapter:
