your topic might as well have been ATTN: COPS

taxes at work
8/13/2006 7:01:53 PM
isn't this illegal
8/13/2006 7:05:24 PM
cops can't do anything. They could have obtained them legally at the Flea Market.

Id take that stop sign down if I were you, three guys went to jail for man slaughter after yanking one down and someone ran the sign and was killed, not really worth cheap apartment clutter.
8/13/2006 7:07:43 PM
^^if they are real road signs, there is no way of legally obtaining them. even if you do pay money for them at the flea market

Actually I found it on a country road in the middle of nowhere. It sat on the side of the road for a little bit over a month. Just to clarify that, the RR sign is from a flea market, do not pass was the same way as the stop sign. Construction vehicle magnet was from a friend who works for Penndot, it was just laying around in his garage and I liked it, so he gave it to me. So since you all seem to be concerned there's your explanation.

Hey just trying to save you some trouble. Still illeagle to have them, just like buying stolen goods.
8/13/2006 7:51:49 PM
It's not illegal to own those signs. It's illegal to take them (bigtime), but not illegal to own them. I know this because I've gone to many city auctions where they sell those and streetlights. Kinda hard for city to sell items that are illegal to own.

$5 on the RR and $5 on the construction vehicle
8/13/2006 11:13:46 PM
just curious, what's so cool about owning road signs?

Removing a stop sign and RR crossing sign was retarded

^^^The "Prevent Forest Fires" smokey signs are apparently on high demand. We've had multiple signs stolen in the counties I work....I must admit, if I was still a forestry student instead of working for the forest service it'd be a pretty kickass sign to have in my dorm room.

I really want that California sign in Wilmington
8/14/2006 12:27:05 AM
PAUL COUSINS IS GONNA BE ALL UP IN THIS SHIT!
8/14/2006 12:28:40 AM
These things are available at different types of outlets. It's not against the law to have them. I furnished bars with shit at my old job and we bought many city/state/county signs, just for the hell of putting something on the wall.Stop signs were never sold though....and I have been to a number of these sales...and I don't have an explanation why they were'nt sold....it just never came up.Must be a reason.

$6 on RR

i stole one of these when i lived in memphis. then my crackhead roomate stole it when he moved out.
8/14/2006 3:26:49 AM
i had a really cool one that said Stop Here while Flashing with an arrow on it.I figured I'd get harrased by TWW, so I just threw it away. There's nothing wrong with owning one of these signs, as people have mentioned in the thread.
8/14/2006 9:52:17 AM
I used to work @ a few sign shops, and we made street signs all the time....you couldn't tell the diff between ours and real DOT ones. For all anyone knows they could have been custom made.
8/14/2006 10:13:29 AM
20 for the girl holding up the sign
