i couldn't find the book in the local library system so i settled for the manga version. from what i read it perfectly fulfilled the japanese quota for women being raped and schoolchildren being able to operate weapons.

finally saw the movie as well.

Thought the book was much better than the movie. Actually reading about what they were thinking and their justifications into why they were killing their classmates is what makes it stand out from the film.
