walmart might have a good bit of fabric, but that fabric isn't good. while some comes from the same producers as that at hancocks/etc, even in the same prints and what have you, it's DEFINITELY inferior.mill outlet, hancocks.there are some specialty quilting fabric stores around, but you may not need to go there. what are you looking for?

I bought some really nice fabric and cool buttons at the Cotton Boll in Chapel Hill. It's in the same strip mall as Whole Foods.

Is that fabric store still in Cameron Village? I had to go there once almost 5 years ago and the ladies there were super nice. They also seemed pretty curious about what a college aged guy was doing that involved fabric.

That was a Hancock's but it closed a few years ago when CV went upscale.
