I miss the pacific northwest. used to go up around seattle and olympic mountains for training exercises when I was stationed in San Diego. Even got out to the northwestern most point in the lower 48 when we were doing small boat exercises in Neah Bay. Ended each field exercise with a night at the westin in seattle and drinking at kells pub (still have a book of matches and pint glass from the last trip )

seattle is a nice city, but I recommend getting out into the wilderness if you're into camping. you might think it's too cold, but we spent close to a month in tents in jan/feb and it wasn't too bad

Before NC, I lived in Tacoma, Port Orchard, Port Townsend, Bremerton, Silverdale, and Snohomish.

Miss it a lot.

Whidbey is $$$, but so it most of it up there now.
