8/9/2006 12:33:47 AM

It would've been fun to see the expression on her face the instant she realized that slugging that cop cost her the seat.
8/9/2006 12:49:05 AM
8/9/2006 12:50:32 AM
yeah well, politicians say a lot of things
8/9/2006 12:54:29 AM
8/9/2006 12:54:31 AM
i'm telling youhe's not going to run as an independent
8/9/2006 12:55:33 AM
He's gonna face a lot of pressure in the next few days to bow out. It'll be interesting to see how he handles it. There's no way this seat goes Republican unless Jodi Rell steps down as Governor and decides to run.
8/9/2006 12:59:23 AM
uhh... bill clinton on the line sir...

" Lieberman concedes to Lamont, vows to run in November"http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/08/democratic.primaries/index.html
8/9/2006 1:04:54 AM
goddamn i have always disliked this guy.
8/9/2006 1:14:49 AM
Lieberman's campaign website was knocked offline Monday by a DoS attack. Liberman blamed Lamont supporters, and called it "dirty politics" and a "Rovian tactic" referring to Karl Rove.Lamont campaign denied any knowledge of it. State Attorney Generals office will investigate.http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/08/lieberman.website/index.htmli think it was Karl Rove.
8/9/2006 1:22:03 AM
^^^yeah, we know what it fucking sayshe's not going to run, man[Edited on August 9, 2006 at 1:22 AM. Reason : .]
8/9/2006 1:22:12 AM
Of course he'll run, and he'll win. With the 48% of non-extremist Democrats who supported him in the Primary, plus the independent voters, plus those Republicans that will vote for him given the fact that they have a weak GOP candidate, his victory would pretty much be in the bag. Who wouldn't run given those circumstances?
8/9/2006 4:52:01 AM
^That's a fine plan in the fantasy world where campaigns don't require money to run. From what I've seen primaries tend to go like this:Situation A: you win. You get money from PACs, the party, various others.Situation B: you lose. People don't give you money. So he's already basically had his legs shot out from under him.Plus this whole "the 48% of non-extremist Democrats" thing is crap. People who vote in primaries tend to be partisan. If you analyze the word "partisan" carefully, you'll notice that it means "takes sides." Which side? Uh ... the ... party. Partisan. Got it. So let's look at the situation where there are three choices, and you're the partisan Democrat:Choice A: Democrat.Choice B: Not a Democrat.Choice C: Not a Democrat. My guess is you would tend to vote for ... um ... the Democrat. Since you know, the whole point of having a political party is to not split votes in mainstream elections.Personally I hope Lieberman is gone for good. It has nothing to do with the man's politics per se, I just can't stand him. He's annoying. He's a perpetual Presidential Candidate who has Jomentum (tm)(R) because his silly little state is too rich to have any real problems. He's one of the most prominent mis-calculating idiots in the Senate who thinks the Senate is a launching pad for Presidential Ambition, despite decades of evidence to the contrary. It's wonderful to see him get knocked down a peg. So he'll be replaced by another knee-jerk liberal. Big deal. It's Connecticut.

fox news spent 60% of its evening coverage on accusing lamont
8/9/2006 7:41:54 AM
yeah...they did...i dont know why....i was pulling for lieberman but no one is suprised that he lost...
8/9/2006 7:49:48 AM
I think Lamont will win the seat, maybe Lieberman if his personal popularity is as high as people claim it is.Regardless -- this is a big plus for Republicans. Liberal money and attention being drained in Connecticut, "teh L3ft has been overrun by teh f4r, f4r L3ft" campaign ads already in production, the list goes on. Good times.
8/9/2006 8:49:14 AM
is it really??i can see these ads now...talking about how democrates have "abandoned all forms of centricism and bi-partisanship"...or something
8/9/2006 8:52:59 AM
i was gonna post something but this thread is about connecticut, not georgia like the title implies
8/9/2006 9:26:34 AM

8/9/2006 10:24:25 AM
So much for the "anti-Bush" revolution. There goes one of your left-wing loons.
8/9/2006 10:37:35 AM
What on earth does this have to do with any revolution?
8/9/2006 10:48:51 AM
mckinney was a huge bush-basher and a frequent player of the race card.
8/9/2006 10:50:18 AM
And had how much power, nationally or within the party?
8/9/2006 10:53:42 AM
every little bit helps. i must really bother you. please, stop following me
8/9/2006 10:58:23 AM
i dont like bush and i dont like mckinneyOMG HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!?!?!?!
8/9/2006 11:00:14 AM
you could be upset w/ bush over immigration? lots of people are.
8/9/2006 11:01:11 AM
im upset with bush over a lot of things. lots of people are.but that has nothing to do with mckinney sucking too.
8/9/2006 11:02:25 AM
8/9/2006 11:04:04 AM
connecticut is a pretty liberal state...a large chunk of the state is registered independent so who knowsthe media goons are saying lieberman still has a chance to win, and were saying a few days ago if he lost the primary and ran as an independent he could still winwe'll see
8/9/2006 11:06:42 AM
Race wasn't a factor. But she made it one.I wish you could have seen her antics, what a loonbag. Her concession speech consisted of her getting 100 people on a platform and playing an anti-Bush song while singing along. And the "debate"? Classic. I'm so fucking happy right now.
