I currently drive a 1997 Nissan pickup in o.k. shape, but needs some work (speed sensor, clutch, new tires). Rather than put $800 into fixing that stuff just in time to drive around Wisconsin with a RWD pickup for 8 months of winter I'm thinking it may be time for a new car.Thinking something small and sporty(er), 2dr, hopefully FWD to help in the crappy weather, manual transmission, and decent gas mileage (my truck gets 23 on the highway, wtf???). Probably looking to spend $10000 to $15000, maybe as high as $18k list depending on what I can get for my truck. No more than 40k miles, 60k if it's a very reliable brandThanks![Edited on August 8, 2006 at 12:46 AM. Reason : .]

wrx.. drove one today they are fun.[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 12:37 AM. Reason : awd bitch good for bad weather.]
8/8/2006 12:36:35 AM
In that price range???
8/8/2006 12:37:32 AM
My car seriously....2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, 58,000 miles, mechanically perfect, always run 93 and run mobile 1 synthetic 5w-30 every 3,000 miles.FWD, and gets 32mph with the I/H/E. $11,000 with the extras. only reason im selling is cuz my dad is giving me his envoy, so i can tow my bike and jet ski. I love my car, and its a great combo of comfort/sporty/functionality.
8/8/2006 12:38:30 AM
& you changed full synthetic at 3,000 miles. so you're an idiot, completely invalidating everything you just said. cheers.
8/8/2006 12:40:58 AM
When you add a header, it reduceds your oil life considerably...but thanks, and y are u complanning you arent paying the $27 a case for it
8/8/2006 12:42:54 AM
If I were in NC I'd be all over it - I know Nissans run forever - I'm on my second
8/8/2006 12:43:03 AM
it can be in NC, next week, dont worry about that....btw im not sure if you know anything about the spec v, but its not the average sentra. -2.5L inline 4 dohc with cvtc-Limited Slip-6 speed- totally diffent interior (silver and black)- differnt front bumper[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 12:47 AM. Reason : k, also i should tell u my car is silver with a CF hood]
8/8/2006 12:44:37 AM
That's the problem - I'M not in NC anymore. I moved to Wisconsin
8/8/2006 12:45:17 AM
well it can be there too, i guess.... ill get some good pics up tomorrow for u to look at
8/8/2006 12:47:53 AM
sweet man, i'll be back to check them out then - what can you tell me about it? what kinda extras are you talking about?
8/8/2006 12:53:20 AM

8/8/2006 12:59:11 AM
yea & after all that, its still slow, but hell, its had a hell of a lot of fresh oil put into it!
8/8/2006 1:06:57 AM
Can't be that slow - 0-60 in 7 seconds stock - with intake and exhaust as well as all that other crap like headers and a carbon fiber (haha) hoodbesides, i'm not going for hella fast here - speedier than my truck, reliable, good mileage, and fun to drive are the priorities[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 1:13 AM. Reason : .]
8/8/2006 1:12:52 AM
^ It would be a good car for you.
8/8/2006 1:21:51 AM
8/8/2006 1:44:10 AM
Ok, Sentra SE-R Spec-V.What else would fit in that description? I'd much rather spend around $10k-$12k on this... once student loans kick in I have a feeling life is going to suck.
8/8/2006 9:03:32 AM
^^i agree wtf. u dont want something that rides that low to the ground for those snow storms imo... STICK WITH A FUCKING SUV baha. for serious living in nj for a couple years low sedans are good as shit when it snows bad.

Finally got the pics taken and loaded up, pretty much self explanatory. All the pics can be seen is this gallery: http://ncst.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2046361&id=11800442A few samples:
8/8/2006 9:08:05 PM
Who is that scrotum standing behind the bike? He looks like he's fixing to blow a booger at the camera man.
8/8/2006 9:12:58 PM
least u didnt have anything bad to say about my car
8/8/2006 9:14:17 PM
Well, the carbon fiber hood and the hold down pins wouldn't be my first choice for mods (or even my last), but each to his own...
8/8/2006 9:17:11 PM
What was the motivation behind getting the c.f. hood?
8/8/2006 9:17:23 PM
Well it was free, and my other one had some small dents on it...so i figured what the hell, but i prob wouldn't do it again, and i would never pay for one[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 9:31 PM. Reason : so to answer your question, there really was no motivatiob]
8/8/2006 9:18:52 PM
Ha just wonderin'
8/8/2006 9:31:18 PM
bttt for some new ideas. i hope.
8/9/2006 8:55:00 PM
Save up 10k and buy an evo
8/9/2006 9:04:14 PM
you need to paint your hood to match the rest of the car-it looks really ghey.
8/9/2006 10:01:59 PM
8/9/2006 10:52:16 PM
I sold 15 for a group buy on http://www.b15sentra.net, and i got a free one...that was my compensation.
8/9/2006 11:02:28 PM
hey man, it's cool. whatever you like. i bet you got one hell of a sub box in the trunk to compensate for the lost weight from the hood, too.
8/9/2006 11:05:05 PM
Sentra SE-R Spec-V and sub 7 sec. 0-60 sounds slow just because of the SE-R and Spec-V, but I think it has the same engine as the 2.5 altima with less weight. I'm quite happy with my 2.5 altima but a 3.5 se-r would be sweet[Edited on August 9, 2006 at 11:18 PM. Reason : b]
8/9/2006 11:17:32 PM
same engine, but the altima and base SE-R are rated for 165hp, the spec-v has slightly differnt fuel mapping, and different exhaust to get the 175hp stock
8/9/2006 11:26:23 PM
buy my car!
8/10/2006 9:31:15 AM
What is it?
8/10/2006 8:33:51 PM
8/11/2006 8:41:07 AM
Seriously, a subaru would be perfect.Audi A4 wouldn't be a bad choice either.
8/11/2006 11:48:18 AM
I have to say my roommate just bought a SE-R Spec V and its a great car, but that hood looks like shit.
8/11/2006 12:21:28 PM

8/14/2006 2:00:44 AM
1974 Dodge Dart. You can't go wrong with that. I swear.
8/14/2006 2:12:49 AM
^ best suggestion so far
8/14/2006 3:12:06 AM
fuck a dart, get an omni turbo
8/14/2006 3:47:26 AM
is the truck from the original post still around?
8/14/2006 4:38:11 AM
8/14/2006 12:49:18 PM
My truck??? Yeah, I still have it but it's with me in Wisconsin... Still waiting for my other financial things to work themselves out before I decide if I really want to buy a new car...
