Had a large branch fall off of a tree and destroy my rear windshield and put some minor dents/scratches in the roof and bumper of my 04 RSX. Just curious, since no mechanical damage was done to the car, how much would something like replacing the glass and repairing/repainting these panels hurt the trade-in value of the car?I know its got to hurt, but seems like it shouldn't be as bad as if I got in an accident and did damage to the engine, suspension, etc.Haha, before anyone comments, yes I n00bed the topic with "affect" instead of "effect", whoop-di-fuckin-do[Edited on August 7, 2006 at 5:44 PM. it depends on if you can tell if ever was damaged at all after the repairif it's repaired very well and nobody can tell then $0of course a dent in the roof isn't going to be as bad as a the engine not working and having to be replaced - did you really think about this question before you asked it - this seems like common sense to me

If I go through insurance, even if it's repaired well, wouldn't there be some record of the repair (like if someone ran a Carfax on it)? Sure if no one finds out you can get away with. I'm going through insurance, it's like $2000 to fix.

it has to be greater than some amount to be on the title$2000 should be under that
