So I've got a lot on the Big Island. I was fine with just letting it sit there until I had some money to invest in it, but taxes just went up 400% this last year, So now im looking for creative ideas on how to use it to make just enough to pay the taxes (about 500 a year) without having to invest a lot of initial capital and preferable only having to make one visit. It's suitable for farming, with a small orchard of starfruit trees, but to turn a profit on that would be a lot of work. I'm thinking more a long the lines of campground or something like that.

What are your long term plans for the property? Were you planning on building a house on it someday, etc...Even something like a campground will take money and effort on your part--probably more than $500.

Ill give you $500 for it.

$500 a year isn't much at all for a nice piece of land on a tropical islandyou could build a decent house there and rent it out

I heard of a scheme a while back of people selling single square feet to people just so they could say they owned property in Hawaii. But you're not cool enough to pull that off.
