I can buy the stuff online for 1/2 what it costs in Petsmart. I'm obviously willing to pay more to get it NOW, but damn I'll just wait a week if it's going to save me $50 - anyone know anything?

Petsmart = OwnerStupid. Their prices are ridiculous. Even on basic cat food it's more than your average grocery store. What are you looking for?

Petsmart does price matching, I'm pretty sure. Print out wherever it is you can get it for less, and take it in. They should give you that price.

price matching ... good idea yeah, I only go to petsmart if (a) I need something in a large enough container that Walmart and grocery stores don't carry, (b) I'm entertaining the children by letting them look at all the critters, (c) I'm picking up horse-related things for relatives who can't get it in BFEFeliway is something POP told me about (pop-nc.com) that is supposedly designed to immitate a cat's facial pheromones so when you spray it on the couch or use the plug-in it makes the cat say HEY I LIKE THIS PLACE MAYBE I SHOULDN'T PEE ON IT ... combined with something like nature's miracle, perhaps I can rescue my papasan chair ... and my floor underneath it.Just called another place called Pet Supermarket in Cary and they carry it ... but probably for 2x$texas ... I didn't ask because I worked retail, and nothing pissed me off more than someone calling and asking for a price.

print out the online page with the product.... take it to PetsMart, and get your product there... take it to register... profit...it's that simple. They'll price match anything except things from PetsMart.com I believe.

I hate petsmart... But i still shop there for fish shit.
8/2/2006 12:30:03 PM
Why does everyone hate Petsmart so much? It may not be the best pet store, but it's not that bad. Plus, they will take anything back at any time for any reason, no receipt needed, which can come in handy.
8/2/2006 12:34:56 PM
it's not bad, it just tends to be overpriced and it reeks of corporate entity
8/2/2006 12:59:47 PM
Yeah, I can definitely see the corporate thing. But that just makes it easier to manipulate with price matching and stuff like that-- small chain stores probably wouldn't do that.

I take my dogs to the Banfield vet at Petsmart because they offer a good payment plan. I think I paid $100 to join and then it is $20/month for each dog and all your walk-in appointments are free, so if you're ever worried about even a minor thing, you can take them in. It also pays for all of their shots, discounted medications and flea/tick/heartworm stuff and 2 yearly drop-ff appointments where they do a heavy physical and give them all of their shots. I believe I also get a discount at the grooming place, too.

^ Ok now that's kinda cool, except all i gots is cats, and I just do their brushing and nails myself

feliway works wonders. i totally believe in it. i use the plug-in type, and have been for 3 years now when stressful situations come up (moving, new pet, etc).http://www.upco.com (plug-in refill = $13.25) upco has crazy cheap prices on everythinghttp://www.drsfostersmith.com (refill = regulary $15.99, on sale this moment for $13.59)

I have some questions, and I'm going to ask here instead of making a new thread Cat's at POP in Garner getting spayed today. I'm sure she'll be REALLY happy when she gets back 1. Can the Feliway refill be used with other plug-ins or does it only work with its own brand? 2. Other than Feliway, what can I do to remove the urine? I have used some products that "remove" it then even after the item has not been exposed to additional peeing it starts to stink again, so if you have any don't-use-this comments, thos are welcome too.3. How long did it take your cats to stop marking, assuming the issue was non-medical?It doesn't appear to have soaked *too* deep thx to Teflon coating on the couch, so I want to get a carpet cleaner and some Nature's Miracle and have at those cushions. Floor ... a previous cat liked to pee under our papasan chair, presumably because he felt safe thx to the "shelter" ... I plan to just rip up the soaked boards and KILZ the floor, cover with a random rug until I can get new flooring.I know someone reading this is saying just get rid of the cat, and we did get rid of one because she was being malicious (peed in the crib with the baby in it) but these two just don't understand - evil kitty was here first, and the damage was done - I want to get the smell out because (a) we'll be living here a while longer and (b) when we finally do sell, I want to be sure we don't get any backlash.
