I have noticed alot of users adding sound to threads. It is really irritating, and I was wondering if Jake and Company would be interested in suppressing it.

Just turn your volume off. Case closed.

in IE you can hit the stop button. the sounds are ok if used occasionally. annoying when overused.

I think it's funny when I embed a sound.

I do not think it's funny when someone embeds a different sound in order to counteract my sound.

Grrr...in that love songs thread I tried hitting the stop button, but it didn't work!

You really need to set an option where we can accept sounds or not(like you did for the mail)

Your Web browser undoubtedly has an option to not play sounds embedded in Web pages. Jesus, assume a little personal responsibility and stop expecting these two to add in features just 'cause you don't know how to do them yourself.

how about this...

Did I ask you for a comment? How do you know I hadn't already tried that? That is right you don't. Don't assume anything because it only makes an ASS out of you.

And yes I did go under options in my browser and uncheck the box. This is what Jake said earlier and that is what I was commenting on.

i think its annoying as hell. most of the time when im on tww im at home listening to mp3's. these stupid embedded waves severely distract from my listening experience. sure i can hit the stop button, but i dont want to have to.

i really think this issue should be submitted for a vote on the front page. maybe the first democratic move by tww towards self-government towards becoming a true internet community. ya, i am getting cheesy here.

You really don't need to have a vote. You can just make it an option just like he did for the mail.

get rid of the damned sounds. I didn't mind them, but then they just started to get really fucking annoying.

I'm gonna have to agree on this one, not counting my thread about the sounds in CC. It's really a matter of disabling your soundcard... Just kidding. It is annoying, but I'm not about to ask someone to do more work just because I am annoyed.
