IF you have no money you should probably buy some cheap stuff from the grocery store instead of going to "eatin spots"

If you have money then you wouldn't be floating checks.

He may have lost his debit/credit card and be waiting for a new one in the mail. And the bank isn't open so he can't write a check for cash.

That's happened to me before and it was really bothersome.

Well, if you have a grocery store card (VIC, MVP, etc) you can buy something, ask if you can write the check for more than the amount, and they'll give you cash back. That was really handy, but usually it's only 10 or 20 over.

Not keeping cash on hand and only using your card is really dumb.

Well if they stole his card, they would have stolen any cash he had too. And you can cancel a check card, but you can't cancel a $20 bill.

you might also try writing a check to a friend or roomate who could go take cash out of the atm & give it to you.

^ I'm amazed at how many people are unaware of writing a check for cash.

If you're card was stolen, I'd cancel it the second I realized it was really stolen and borrow 30 bucks or so from a friend until Monday
