You do realize Hellmuth just won his record-tying 10th bracelet

And all of his are in Texas Hold'em...right?

Harrington is a good choice, and so is Cloutier...I picked Hellmuth because he's been playing impeccable poker this year. I also like Raymer.

Well why don't you pick the pro that goes the farthest...kinda like the thread implies. Rather than saying it'll be someone new, which is a safe bet considering there will be about 10,000 people in it...

William (Bill) Chen

I used to work with this dude. Has to be the most disheveled looking person ever. Always walked around with his shirt tail out through his zipper. But, he's already won TWO bracelets in this WSOP. He's my pick.

Chen is a good choice.

Hellmuth has had 6 cashes this year including 1 bracelet and a 2nd place. He also has a 6th place rounds out his 3 final tables.

Winnings of 1.13 million THIS YEAR at the WSOP. That is fucking fantastic, even if he did play almost every event.

"All-In Called with 8-High
On a flop of 1075, Tim Rod bets $300 and his opponent raises to $600. Rod calls and the turn puts the 3 on the board. Rod again bets out with $1,500 and is again raised by his opponent to $4,000. Rod calls and the river puts the 3 on the board. Rod pushes all-in and his opponent immediately calls. Rod flips up KQ for a turned flush. His opponent says, "Do I have a straight flush? Oh, no I don't" as he shows 86 for 8-high. "

AHAHAHAHA, hilarity.

Laura Prepon Takes a Pot
A player in early position raises to $150 and Laura Prepon re-raises up to $300. Prepon's opponent calls and the flop comes 7club5diamond2spade. Prepon's opponent checks and she bets out $400. Her opponent calls and the turn puts the Kheart on the board. Prepon's opponent now bets out $700 and Prepon again calls. The river is the 10spade and Prepon's opponent again shoots out with a $1,000 bet. Prepon calls and shows AheartAspade for an over pair while her opponent flips up AdiamondKspade for top pair, top kicker and Prepon takes the pot. Prepon is now sitting with $12,400.

"Quads vs. 2nd Nuts
Ryan Fisler re-raises his opponent all-in on a board of 775108. His opponent quickly calls and flips over 1010, for the second nuts, a full house, 10's over 7's. Fisler then flips over 77 for quad 7's. Not only is his opponent in shock, but now he's left with only $900 in chips. After this hand, Fisler is sitting with roughly $16,000. "

Oh that is horrible...at least you lost to the best hand though.

"Sorrentino Hits Royal Flush
On a board showing KdiamondJdiamond10diamondAdiamond8club, Mike Sorrentino bets $2,000 and Ben Roberts takes some time before mucking his hand. Sorrentino opts to show his hand, AspadeQdiamond, which gave him the royal flush. Sorrentino's stack is now up to $35,500. "

"Hardest Beat EVER
Jack Mahalingam is all-in for $5,000 and is called an opponent in late position. Mahalingam shows 8spade8club and his opponent has 5heart5club. The flop is 6spade5spade5diamond and his opponent flops quads. The turn is a 9spade giving Mahalingam a gut-shot straight flush draw (his only way to win). The river is the 7spade giving Mahalingam the straight flush and the hand.

Its still going on
Today at noon (Pacific) is Day 1 Group D

So far, Hellmuth is out (dammit), Cloutier is out, Harrington is out...there's more (obviously)

Negreanu is doing pretty well (he was group B or C) and Raymer is doing well too.
