modem into the cable line if you have road runneri want to put my computer a good ways away from the existing one and really don't want to run that much cat 5 cable and i'm not sure if i want to do the wireless thing either.i know it probably won't work but i've wondered this for a while.

umm we're talking upstairs and back probably 150 ft... i'm not really worried about degradation i just don't want to have to run it that far. the physical act of placing it in the walls etc.
