and I just lost my job, along with 250 others in the Selma area... The big wigs came to town today, and they told us it was for an introduction... The first words out of the new guys mouth are, "we regret to inform you this plant will be closing within the next year"... Im pretty bummed out.

Fuck Reynosa Mexico

I dont know if its lounge or chit chat

the day and age of working for a company for 20+ years is gone. I know our parents did it in the 80's and 90's but you can't do it now.

The south needs to adjust from this philosophy.

Selma is largely working class. It stinks for hunter, but at least he has an advanced degree. THe Eastern end of the state has more working class people than it knows what to deal with.

This plant closing effects the working class and every other Selma business worked with the plant. People will have to go out of town to get jobs, most likely do their shopping there and evidentually move. It happened in Erwin when the jean factory moved.

Our generation of high school drop outs is royally screwed.

^ they are offering relocation for some workers, but I doubt anyone will go...

anyway im here today, Ive got a meeting at 8, 9, and 10 then Im leaving for the week

I hope I can hold out for the 8 weeks severance pay i am eligible for

(and I didnt even see that I put imployer and not employer, I was a little pissed off when I typed it)

oh and Moon, as far as the Kenly News goes, I can give you the names of the people from town that work(ed) here... and read this bull shit i got this morning

Quote :
"VCBU Team,

If any media, local or otherwise, contacts you or any employees please have them direct their inquiries to our designated Eaton spokesperson, Keith Rigby (info below).

The press releases will be issued tomorrow (Friday) morning to local media outlets. So, all inquires should go to Pittsburgh anyway; however they may dispatch a reporter to the plant.

When asked any questions by the media, a good response would be..."Right now our focus is on our Selma employees. Let me give you the contact information for our spokesperson, he will be glad to answer any questions you have."

Thanks,
Lou"

Yeah you really care about the Selma employees

Call me at the office! I would love to get some names of folks in town that worked at the plant. And tell everyone to blow off any N&O or Herald reporters til Wednesday so we can get it first.
