Hello gentleman and ladies,I will be purchasing a a sweet Sony A2000 HD tv in the next couple of weeks and I don't really know much about surround sound speakers, so would love some feedback from you knowledgable individuals. Since I'm breaking the bank on the tv, I don't want to spend too much. However, I know that the tv comes with some pretty daunting HMDI sound specs, and I would like some speakers that will be able to utilize all that high tech quality. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Don't cheap out on surround-sound. Head to audio advice and check out what they have. Buy your high quality ccomponents one at a time if you can't afford it all at once. Cheap surround-sound sounds like ass. Invest in something worth listening to.

You are going to pay 2-3x the price to buy your stuff from audio advice or any other local specialty shop. Find good hifi forums, do your own research from the people there and buy your stuff online. AVSforums might be a decent place to start, but dont quote me on it

I would highly recommend atleast 2 of these for front speakers. http://www.ubid.com/CADENCE_A-15_TOWER_SPEAKER_SYSTEM_3-WAY_WITH_8%22_SUB_BUILT-IN/a601654954.htmlI just ordered a second set for the rear. They're phenomal, both for the money and quality. Radioshack has a pretty nice receiver on sale, a kenwood 6.1 1000w that would work well with it. The center channel and sub are your call, I like JBL though

^Is that by the pair or individually? In any case, that's a pretty good deal. But needlesmcgir might not be budgeted for it. 4 of those for $80/piece, plus a cheap sub for maybe $150 and center for about $50 and then a $200 receiver is probably out of his range. If you want the big tower speakers though and really good sound, you're not going to spend less than that. But, if you're looking for something with the smaller speakers, and you already have a good DVD player, an HTIB with an optical input is good, something like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7688638&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat40200050004&id=1138083309444Or if you want a DVD player, this one is not bad (but not quite as nice as the Yamaha): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7728202&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat40200050002&id=1140391861581If you can spend more than that, then this one sounds really good and has a lot of neat features:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7335261&type=product&id=1122654578991

for an all in 1 box type solution, onkyo is pretty goodhttp://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Home-Theater-Systems/sem/rpsm/Ntt/onkyo/Ntk/All/catOid/-13325/N/0+21012884+20013325/link/ref/rpem/ccd/categorylist.do
